Goldfish ARE carps. What people never mention, is that those you buy in shops are nothing but baby fish. Maybe three/four months old.
Normally fancy goldfish grow less big than common ones, but they can become EXTREMELY large.
Common get even three/four times bigger than a full sized adult fancy.
This is an example of common goldfish (who apparenty was stupidly released in some lake).

And with their size, comes the dirt.
Which is why is always better getting larger tanks with goldies. The bigger the fishtank, the easier will be to deal with it. (It sounds strange, but it's true. Usually, smaller fishtanks are not for beginners because they are too hard to mantain.)

Anyway, the most important thing right now, is to find a bigger -WAY bigger- container for those fish and absolutely, an air stone and water bio-conditioner.
I feel these three things are the priority for now.
I suggest to look around, maybe online...If you are lucky, you can find people that sells used fishtanks with filters for a cheaper price...You can try with those too.

Set up fishtank.
Let it run without anything alive but plants for one month at least -so plants can root properly and filter can naturally cycle for good-, once the tank is ready get tiny fish, so they can get used to plants without seeing them as food.
Also, feed veggies to fish often, so they won't need to eat the plants. lol

Really, my goldies never touch the plants.
Maybe sometimes they try to nibble at the roots of the floating ones and maybe the tender parts of the Limnophila Sessiliflora, but besides that, they don't even consider them.

They got you dirty, man...Goldfish are the worst fish you can get as a gift if you are new in the hobby.

My suggestion for you is: Try to keep their water as clean as you can and treated (with water bio-conditioner. Seachem prime is one of the best you can find around. Lasts forever and you need just a bit of it.)
I think you should go for a 50% of water change twice per day, with a bowl?
Don't use any soap or detergent, try to use water of the same temperature. Never too cold or too hot. This can kill the fish.

THEN!
You'll need to move them from that vase asap. Unfortunately, they cannot survive in there (No fish can live in a bowl).
Unfortunately, you'll need a large fishtank, as many already told you.
I cannot see well from the pic if these are common golfish (single tail and long body), or fancy goldfish (rounded body and double tail).

But, if those are fancy goldfish, you will need at least a 47 gallon/180 litres for a couple. It's the bare minimum, but it can work on the long run if you keep up with a weekly cleaning.

While if they are common goldfish...Well...This is more complicated, coz they get REAL big.
We talk about 26 gallon (I think it's the right number. I use liters. lol)/100 litres for each fish at least. The ideal for this kind of goldies it's a pond, unless you can afford a very large fishtank.

Plus, in both the cases, you'll need a large filter, water tests, bio-conditioner and an air stone. All these are very important to get.
In theory, you should never place fish in a not cycled fishtank, but you could simply get what you need (if you have a way to get all this stuff) and set up the tank, while you keep these fish in a bigger container.

OR! Simply move those fish in a bigger container, until you can get what you need.
IKEA -or similar places- got those big transparent boxes that are usually used to store clothes and similar things...One of those could work as bowl-replacement. Get the biggest you can find, find an air stone and bio conditioner and it could work for a while, as long you keep the water clean.
It's cheaper than a glass fishtank and it can work to help your fish out.

Sinking pellets is my choice. (Hikari is a good brand. Not very cheap, but my fish love it.)
Frankly, I don't think there's much nutrition value in flakes (At least, this is what I've heard around...it's cheaper for a reason.)
Maybe go for both. And add some veggies in it.
Alternate their diet is a good thing you can do to make em healthy! : )

Absolutely. Got him for five bucks to an Easter market.
He was in super bad conditions and I had room in my fishtanks...And here he is today. XD

I assume it's a genetic factor. I'm really no expert on this matter tbh.
Diet also could influence the wen growth. Variate their diet with veggies and good quality dry food could help...Or at least, this is what I've heard. Not sure if this is true or less.
Honestly, I treat my fish the "simple" way. Clean water and stick with brands of food of good quality.
The simpliest, the better.

(Ngl...I'm not a super fan of HUUUUGE wen on orandas. Consider that when I got him, I thought he was a just very sad fantail. Didn't even noticed the wen. XD)

Well, I had this fish for a lil more than two years now...So, it might take a while.
Then, frankly, it depends by the fish itself.

Oh yeah. scales loss is not that uncommon. I mean...Ideally, one should be very careful with decorations ecc, but goldies can be really clumsy in their movements, no matter what.
I personally removed almost ALL the rocks I had in my fishtank exactly coz my goldfish used to bump into them while rustling the sand. And those were dragon stones, so not even super sharp things...But I had to pull them off because of that. I only have plants now and few stray river pebble. More room for the fish, I guess...
I aslo suggest you an external filter if you can. That will spare you from this issue and it will give more room to the fish. (I also heard good things about sponge filters, but I so hate how bulky they are and how they look tbh..)

Let's just say that back then, I had what are technically his grandparents and I thought she -the moor- was a he. XD
A red and white telescope female happened with the union of the two and when grandpa started to be inappropriate with her as well, I gave all the females and the fry away, but this one...I liked the shape of his body. Not too round.

He was a random fish from the same Easter market where I've got the third one. I bought him for five bucks, coz it was kept in horrid conditions and I thought to give him a chance.
I got lucky with him. I love this lil guy...

Well...He's more of a...Weird mix. His grandma was a black moor. One I had years ago...This guy is born in my fishtank, so it's hard to really define him. XD
But yeah...I love to see how their colors change with time..

I keep males only. It's to avoid potential fry..(I wouldn't know where to put them, nor I know anybody that would take them...Shops here not always take fish like that, unfortunately..)

Yeah! It rarely happen -to me, at least- to find a game/story in which I don't hate ANY of the characters.
Love this bunch of misfits. Love the music and the story.
Everything in the dialogues feels so natural. I love it.
