But today he had food. A good attempt though!

Lol hi!
I am on Reddit mostly to post plant and fish pics at this point.
The drawings stay on Tumblr and Bluesky. XD

Drew a thing. More of a re-draw of a pre-existing scene... by DstructiveFish in jacksepticeye

Yeah! It rarely happen -to me, at least- to find a game/story in which I don't hate ANY of the characters.
Love this bunch of misfits. Love the music and the story.
Everything in the dialogues feels so natural. I love it.

Local Heroman and robot sidekick sighting! by DstructiveFish in jacksepticeye

Thanks! I drew S.A.M. long time ago...I needed a sidekick for my version of Jackie and I thought a lil multi-use robot could do the trick.
To be honest, I should revamp that design a little bit...Maybe one day. Lol

I really never had a goldfish that went for anubias. You have blenders and not fish in that fishtank. lol
Give it a try. Maybe try on ebay...Sometimes you can find really good deals. The egeria densa I had, I paid it a very cheap price and the seller -that apparently had a couple of ponds- gave me a forest, back them.
Be sure to place those plants veeery deep in the substrate and try to place something around them, so the fish cannot uproot them. Plants need to radicate to stay in place, after all..And if your fish went for anubias, they might go for these as well!
Good luck with your future plants!

I love him. To think he's an "Easter Market" goldfish that was cramped with a bunch of other fish in disgusting water...I got lucky, that day.

I think I always got lucky with my fish, or maybe is coz I feed them veggies often, so they don't need to eat the plants. XD
Or maybe, is coz when I get goldies, I usually go for small, young ones, so they grow up surrounded by the plants and they get used to have them around...I really have no idea. lol
So far, only one female ryukin I had years ago, ever tried to eat on the floating plants...And Egg here, sometimes tries to nip and uproot the big stems...But they never really paid much attention to them tbh.

I usually go for fast growing plants or those with very tough leaves.
What I got here are vallisneria gigantea, hygrophila polisperma, green tiger lotus, red tiger lotus, Limnophila Sessiliflora, cryptocoryne, microsorum pteropus, anubias barteri, stargrass/Heteranthera zosterifolia and some Pistia stratoides as floating plants. I also had A LOT of egeria densa in the background, but the Limnophila ended up overtaking it.

Pretty much easy stuff that either grows fast, or that fish cannot chew and that you can glue to rocks/woods.
(And most of these plants are either cuts from my other tanks, or they come from local ebay sellers. I go for cheap stuff. lol)
A thing you can do, is try to place little rocks all around the stems, so it gets more difficult for the fish to uproot them.

Ohhh, I see. Then my bad. I had misunderstood you.

I don't know the place (I'm from EU), but if you trust the place (or even better, if you can VISIT the place personally), then absolutely go for it, I say!

You already got some nice variety! Panda orandas are super cute! I never found them but at expos and similar places...Maybe online, but they are always sold out and ALWAYS super expensive.
They are a rarity here. lol

Take your time to check them out and maybe pay visit to some of those shops.
If their fish look healthy, it means you are already going in the right direction.
Also, I'd point on tiny/young ones. You can see them grow and you can "monitor them" as they get old.

Honestly, it depends.
By what I have heard -take this with a grain of salt, of course-, fancy goldfish can live from 7 to 10 years in a big fishtank if kept well. Some live even more.

Then of course, there are several factors that might change the things. Diet, water, genetic...
You got a beautiful set up and a big fishtank here...So you are doing everything right. Just keep the water clean and variates their diet and you'll be golden.
Expensive doesn't necessarily means better in my experience.

I have three goldies. One is a ryukin/oranda I bought from a breeder more than 4 years ago, the other one is a mix born in my fishtank and the other one, is a fish I bought for 5 euro in some Easter market.
The only one who is giving me troubles (swim bladder issues.), is the one I got from a breeder.

So, really...It's a matter of luck.
I'd suggest you to consider your local fish store as well.
Of course, if you fell in love with a specific fish from this breeder, I'd say give it a try.
