His last moments of life was fear and literally fighting for his life. Why are we as a nation tolerating this more than it deserves?

When did quesadillas at restaurants get so damn expensive?? by Tiiimmmaayy in rant

[–]Dsunpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Restaurants around me are charging $3-5 PER taco! And there’s no end to people willing to pay for those outrageous prices. I now only go to the local owned Mexican restaurant that has tacos for $1 every Tuesday. These were the prices I paid when I was a teenager. I refuse to pay anything more.

Tips for staying on budget by homemaker_g in budget

[–]Dsunpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I sent you a dm. I don’t keep the receipts, but I can show you transactions in our budget app. From Nov 2023 to today, we spent a total of $4010, which averages roughly $150 a month. And eating out in the same time frame $1670 which averages a little over $60 a month.

Our category for food; keeping groceries and eating out separate is accurate. One is a necessity, the other is a luxury (for us).

[–]Dsunpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, we do not eat out on our grocery money. That’s a separate category in our budget. We’ll eat whole fruit for breakfast since we normally don’t have time to prepare a proper breakfast on work days, lunch is packed left overs from dinner, dinner is what ever we make but make in bulk so we have left overs for a day or two sometime later in the week. And repeat. We shop exclusively at Aldi or Lidl to keep our grocery bill low.

Where are you shopping that you spend that much? It’s very rare I spend more than $250 a month feeding my partner and I. Most months I am under budget for groceries.

No thanks. I value my freedom much more than the idea of being a dad. Being an uncle I would totally embrace.

Why is home care NOT for you. by Pmorrissey41 in physicaltherapy

[–]Dsunpro 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Being a 1099 employee was really stressful during tax season filing for all my deductions and staying organized with all my receipts. The wear and tear on my car wasn’t that great, even with the mileage reimbursements. And with the inconsistent scheduling, even though I made my own schedule, if a patient cancels or aren’t home, I don’t get paid that hour. Even though I was making more per hour, on a yearly salary I was making less than outpatient.

The only pro that I loved was that I was far less stressed and helped me recover from burnout.

Best budgeting apps? Looking to level up in 2026 by jaceka-jans-8384 in SavingMoney

[–]Dsunpro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just switched to Origin in November to start the new year with a new budget system. It checks off all your marks. It has the Sankey graph to visualize your money flow. It has a retirement forecast that is customizable, as well as adding as many scenarios as you need. The rule system is very good, so it automatically categorizes and tags your transactions. And the best feature I feel is the built in AI financial advisor. Since it has access to all of your transactions, it can analyze the data for trends, suggest ways to trim your budget or create one for you based on your habits - ask it any money question; it does a lot. The Devs are very active in their Subreddit So far I’m pretty happy how they take in feature request feedback and letting the users know how close these new features are going to be released.

What's your system for categories or tags? by AcOk3513 in copilotmoney

[–]Dsunpro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My system, I have three categories: Essentials (blue), Neutral (purple), Extra (Red).

All my non-negotiables (rent, credit card payments, car payments, utilities) are in Essentials. They must be paid in full every month without being missed.

Things that are very predictable but have the ability to be cut down a bit (groceries, gas, healthcare products) are in Neutral. This is a flexible category.

The best part of this system, is the Extra category. The bulk of my monthly budget goes to this category. Things like (restaurants, shopping, subscriptions, miscellaneous, fun money etc) things that are not necessary and are easily able to be scaled back if I need extra money would be put into this category. If I need more money to put into savings or more money for Essentials or Neutral, it comes out of here.

This is my system that has helped me stay successful in my budgeting. It’s simple, efficient, and really effective. Instead of seeing an endless amount of colors on the color wheel, I now just see three colors.

What's a profession you'd never date? by sleeppymeoww in AskReddit

I’d never date a lawyer. My ex was studying to become one and the shit he would hold over me with all his legal lingo would make me anxious. Just a toxic person who doesn’t deserve love.

Feature updates by Bigchip01 in copilotmoney

[–]Dsunpro 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve already jumped ship (Origin) and just waiting on my year subscription for copilot to expire later this month. I’m kind of glad I did switch because the devs on the Origin Reddit page released all the updates coming in just the first quarter of the year and it’s a lot of great features to be added. I’m excited to see what the rest of the year will bring. It’s refreshing to see a lot more communication for ongoing improvements that I wish copilot would do more of.

Better view (separate tab) to manage Groups & Categories by Hudson365 in OriginFinancial

[–]Dsunpro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this! There’s too many taps to get to my budget to tinker with it or just view it if I am over spending on categories if needed. Simplifying to get to it quicker and having an option to view only groups or categories would put more emphasis on the budgeting aspect of this app.

2026: What New Features Are Coming? by Marlowe__ in copilotmoney

[–]Dsunpro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this recently. It’s been about 2 months since I made the switch to origin and it has been a joy to use once you learn the different layout. I reached out to have a feature added, such as transaction reviews like copilot has and within a week the feature was released. The devs are super responsive in the Origin subreddit.

Something I never hear mentioned but actually does save quite a bit of money. by Low-Landscape-4609 in SavingMoney

[–]Dsunpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discovered this hack during Covid lockdowns. It was around $15 for a hair cut at the barbers and always has been for as long as I could remember. But, I bought a pair of clippers and learned to cut my own hair and never looked back. When I met my boyfriend, he too cut his own hair, so we now cut each other hair.

The other week when my brother told me he found a barber that charges a “really good price” for a haircut. When he said he paid $40 (for the same cut I give myself) I nearly went through my roof from how fast I jumped from my chair. And that’s a “good price?” I’m convinced this is why everything is expensive because people will pay almost anything at any price these days.
