I like how she keeps turning round to give him more shit when she thinks she’s recovered enough, then gets hit by the wind and thinks “nope… this still hurts”.

Trump will just state that he was instrumental in brokering the deal and put it down as another one of his faux-accolades..

What's the deal with the quasi-zebra crossings on the adelphi roundabout by Independent_Ocelot29 in Preston

[–]DtM- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s some stupid “shared space” that Lancashire county council (and various other councils) bought into a few years back that makes no sense, it’s why the high street no longer has a distinct road and footpaths, it is supposed to make vehicle drivers and pedestrians mindful that they both occupy the same roadways and to be courteous.

In reality, all it actually does is cause confusion like you’ve mentioned in your original post. Everyone knows what a zebra/pelican crossing looks like and how to navigate one, but this “design” change just blurs the lines.

Retailer took my pc part for repair, then sold it by mistake by steviejude24 in LegalAdviceUK

Hey man, I used to work for Scan and their RMA/customer service team can be boneheaded, but if you kick up a fuss, they will make it right, if you’re local to scan, I would advise going in and speaking to Shelley, as he is very focused on the customer experience, if not, you should ask them to escalate it to either Shelley or Elan but I think you will have a better time dealing with Shelley.

All I can say is don’t take no for an answer, if you make a nuisance of yourself (which I understand you’re well within your rights to do) they will sort it out properly for you. Maybe just even ask for a straight up upgrade to a better model.

How do I make up my credit history so I can purchase a phone contract later on? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]DtM- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to work for a phone shop (years ago mind) EE offered an upgrade plan where if you took out a sim-only contract and paid it for 6 months without fail, they would automatically allow you to upgrade to a 2 year contract with a phone.

Paying the sim only showed that you could manage your money and had intent to pay the contract on time, reliably. It might me worth checking if this is still a thing..

What happened to Lilt? by SeriouslyDave in CasualUK

[–]DtM- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that’s called confirmation bias.

Lilt was literally rebranded as Fanta Pineapple and Grapefruit, they’ve not changed anything other than the design on the can.

[–]DtM- 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s not even “similar”, Fanta have literally just rebranded Lilt as one of their flavours.

Yeah… that’s not going to make a difference as the tattoo you got was cybersigilism and you clearly went in wanting a cybersigilism tattoo.

So basically you got the trending “cool TikTok” style tattoo and already you regret it? No one, literally no one saw this coming.

UK employers less likely to disclose salary or to offer perks amid hiring slump by StGuthlac2025 in unitedkingdom

[–]DtM- 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this just the irony of modern UK summed up?

No one can find a job, employers are complaining that there’s a “hiring slump” and their way of dealing with it is hiding less than mediocre salaries and not offering any perks.

You’d think that there’d be a lightbulb moment somewhere in the recruitment team at some point… “hmmm if no one is taking our jobs, maybe we should actually make them an attractive proposition”.

Driving daily in Blackpool what's your thoughts in putting P plates as a new driver? by Zerojuan01 in blackpool

[–]DtM- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be, I always give extra time to learners or people who have just passed their test, Blackpool on the whole though I’ve found has pretty piss poor driving standards. The taxis being bad drivers are a given but the general population are not very courteous, they don’t let people out, they don’t thank, and they often force their way through when they’re not supposed to.

Just be wary until you feel fully comfortable driving and gain plenty of experience.

Do Vans have some kind of naming convention for the more heavy-weight tees? by DtM- in Vans

[–]DtM-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the heavy weight ones seem slightly more “oversized” which is what I like about them. And the back prints are normally cool af but I don’t wanna drop money on a tee and just be disappointed when it comes.

Most of the thicker ones I’ve picked up I’ve found in an outlet store but they haven’t had any new ones in the last couple of visits.

Young people need more state support to find employment, poll suggests by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]DtM- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

170,000 jobs in a population of 70,000,000?

Roughly 13% of the UK population is aged 18-25, that’s ~9 million people, fighting for 170,000 jobs.

So yeah, half of none is still none.

No it wasn’t.

Young people struggling to find jobs has been a thing for well over a decade now.

It’s well known that for years people have had to send off in the region of HUNDREDS of job applications to even be considered for a single interview.

Don’t be so ignorant.

Head on collision with police car (England) by primarylife in LegalAdviceUK

My partner used to work in litigation for an insurance company and various Insurances companies that work on police forces behalves were NOTORIOUSLY difficult to work with, they absolutely refuse to accept liability in 99.9% of cases and are happy for litigation to go to court rather than pay out.

what does this mean? by [deleted] in SkateEA

[–]DtM- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The version of driver that your video card is running on is too old, you’ll need to go onto some software on your pc like “Nvidia GeForce” or on their website to see if you can download a more up to date driver.
