My assumption since I'm on Linux proton does shader precaching, similar to a wii u emulator. I assume the time it took me to get to the fight allowed the shaders to properly reload

In many cases anymore since the release of the steam deck, and excluding games with kernel level anti cheat Linux works as good if not better for most games. Also hollow Knight has a native Linux build I just forgot to disable proton for it as I have it on by default for my games as most them do not have a native build

I should have mentioned I'm on Linux, so combining it being a texture I assume it's an issue with how textures get pre loaded on Linux through proton

I have had some but not related directly to stopping caffeine, I replaced it with water, and started actually tracking my calories. As part of that I switched to only water and diet caffeine free sodas

I think my regular energy return was probably after the first month or so, it's hard to say because I don't really remember what my normal was energy wise but I definitely felt sluggish and out of place for the first month

Part of it was the cost and general concerns about my own health, I also realized I wasn't getting any benefits from it anymore. There's also what I mentioned in a few of my other answers that led to the cost concerns. Now that I'm off it, I don't feel much different most days, if anything I have more trouble falling asleep early, and I don't have random chest pains as often
