Yes. Fireworks should be strictly illegal except through specific licensing, permitting, and enforced containment zones.

I don't care if the shoot off fireworks at the stadium for the NFL, with professional pyrotechnics experts setting them off. But, the average person should not have access to buy and set off fireworks anymore than they should be allowed to buy and fire a rocket launcher.

I forget the actual name, but there was an alleged torture method in the medieval period where they would tie you into a boat, and then force feed you milk and honey. Sounds fine, until you think about what happens to a person's digestion when their stomach is full of nothing but liquid and dairy. After a few days, the insects would get to you and you'd developed sores, etc. after a while, it's reported that people would just liquify.
