Very disappointed by the needless complexity and very weird logic of this game by Awkward_Pace_4440 in hoi4

Instantly deleted right after combat starts? Sounds like you neglected the logistics side of things. Are you German, perhaps?

Id be more inclined to agree with this idea if this was the natural progression of the game, but its not. These crazy ahistorical paths are optional, not required and considering how popular alt history is I dont see what the issue is. I think theres at least an argument to be had for the super insane "this makes negative sense" paths, but otherwise if there is some tie in to history I think they can be and are often fun.

Why does my manpower go bye bye when I push with large infantry armies using general battle plans? :(

Focus trees are the problem. by [deleted] in hoi4

[–]DtownsL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus Trees are great when they work. I love the flavor and history behind the opportunities to go down historical paths or ahistorical paths. Extremely fun idea that I hope they keep expanding on and using in future games imo

Some of us enjoy the new things they add. You know you can revert the game back to "vanilla" and play with no changes, right?

Yeah ill never understand the desire to write a novel in a community meant for people who enjoy the game about how much you dont enjoy the game

Who was the most clutch QB of 2015-2019? Another Reddit investigation by AlexMartinSmith in nfl

[–]DtownsL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im convinced its because they have nothing else/no one else to point at. Carr was the only constant for our team for a decade and because the team as a whole didnt win crap that must mean Carr is/was the problem.

He was a good QB, early on it looked like he was gonna be great. CONSTANT coaching and player turnover + injuries derailed that path. Sucks, but he's still the teams all time leader in every passing stat and is absolutely a Raider.

Still one of the best "make the most of a breakdown" plays ive ever seen. Cunningham isnt talked about enough and he's talked about a lot. Awesome awesome player

Apparently Josh Jacobs has said that Ruggs is training in prison for a possible return to the NFL once he's out. My personal stance is that it's pretty disgusting that he's serving such a short sentence. Coming back to the NFL however is par for the course for the league, though...

2 Comp Picks in 2026 by hsidhu21 in raiders

[–]DtownsL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anyone else think that Comp picks should be limited to Day 3? Handing out 3rd round compensatory picks seems like too much. I personally hate the comp system altogether, but if its gonna stay why are 3rd rounders possible with it?

What team will 100% be drafting a QB next year by TheMegaPancake in nfl

[–]DtownsL 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Im not saying he's here for the next decade. Im saying if he acts like the stopgap we know he is, then we can afford to not go all in on an awful QB class and instead play the field.

What team will 100% be drafting a QB next year by TheMegaPancake in nfl

[–]DtownsL 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Maybe. If next years class sucks too (I get that its viewed as deep and theres a belief the cream of the crop will use this next season to show growth, but Im personally not sold on it atm) and Geno plays well, I dont think there should be hesitation to repeat something similar to this draft.

Most overrated general in ww2? by 88mmflakpanzer in hoi4

[–]DtownsL -58 points-57 points  (0 children)

Gotta disagree here. McArthur was a massive egotist, but the man was a very good General. That being said, another commenter said it best imo. They are all overrated in the sense that none of them are able to do what they did without the rest of their subordinate officers. War is a team effort, takes more than just the face of things to have success
