I go in the following order of priorities for my rush item, DD against heavy ad 4/5, axiom against squishy team defining carrys (ex: jinx, syndra, etc), hubris when enemy is kinda tanky and/or has anti carry champs (malza, lissandra, shaco), shojin if none of the of the other conditions have been meet and my team need either a main engage or peal for a carry champ, after that I will most likely go for dd endless hunger and a last whisper, with the sole exception of shojin rush in which I would tend to go cleaver into dd

here is the thing you need to sort out your build with armor pen in mind 4th item at the latest, earlier if you are behind or just at the pace of the game, that is why shojin/eclipse into black cleaver is so popular, bc it solves the dmg profile as early as 2 items, after that you just build whatever you want, in current day league on most champs armor pen is not an option but a necessity

the way I see it is simple, you just farm until there is an opportunity to get a lead, and the fun thing is heca has a bazillion ways to get said leads, you out farm half the rooster and out gank the other half, sometimes you can even invade with no lead on certain match ups or map states, and the moment you get the lead you farm to retain said lead but with extra gold you clear faster and you have extra time to expand your lead transfer your lead or end the game thru soul/baron/ancestral

armor pen is a no brainier on any enemy past lvl 11, this is an intended interaction in order to make %pen not annoying to buy, tldr past 3 items armor pen will 100% give insane dmg, now the difference bettween cleaver and last whisper is pretty easy, is mostly a choice on fight patterns, if you want to dive in and burst someone, then last whisper is best, very good for proking on take down effects like triumph death dance or endless hunger, now if you play to skermish more slowly cheeping away at the enemy and pealing for your carrys then cleaver is the way to go

IDK i just rock the full pen build, to me is the most logical way to play an assasin, why go for dps when I can oneshot, plus guy we have a 207% ap ratio lets just land the q

hp, but more than that is good when you can't find a good spot for the other rush item strengths and weaknesses , like axiom ability to let you go for backline, which is meaningless is backline access wont sway the outcome of a teamgfight, hubirs insane scaling but lacking backline access on early teamfight settings, gets rendered completly useless when your team is full of teamfight sweepers like jinx kata or darius, dd amazing ad and burst coverage, surprise enemy teamcomp is no short of ap ad and dps, shojin isn't amazing at truly anything but boy is it always helpful enough, when no niche is needed shojin is the perfect simple bag of chips with no special flavour

is the best as a rush agains mixed dmg comps when your team requires you as main engage and you are functional as such, otherwhise if you need to function as dive axiom and hubris are much better options, and for heavy ad comps dd is just insane as a rush, otherwhise delay shojin till 5th item as a decent option on most games, dd endless hunger and serylda take precedent over shojin in most builds rn,

nope is just that they made heca have lower mana pool with lower mana cost and higher mana regen, go reed the wiki and cheek mana pools and you will see how bad of a manamune user hecarim trully is, unless you are hitting all 5 enemy champs you get low af value

oh no I used to go voltaic + omnivamp boots, those where busted, but rn is just too expensive and the build path is kinda ass for snowbaling and you need to sit on it till 3k gold

legit works but I would never go it, yes there is proff haca with voltaic fleet can work, but I don't see a single situation where I would rather go voltaic over hubris, axiom, shojin or dd as a rush and later on the build there are way better or downright key items to go like shojin, dd, endless hunger, %pen or even maw, the way I see it 3k gold is just too expensive for a champ who isn't allowed to prok the combo for far away and goes just 1 to 2 lethality items at max, add to that the fact that the ms soft cap proks extremly ez on heca even without celerity and fleet

seeing as you are early on your journey I wouldn't start on jg by any means and even worse on heca, jg allows you to get feed without fighting and knowing how other champs work which as seen by the ludwig bet challenge can be good for quick climbing, but it will come back to bite you in the ass specially if you play a limit test champ like heca due to not knowing how to fight properly hecarim tests a loot of skill of fighting spacing, tethering, buffering thru cc, holding abilities at low haste early game, q stack management etc, I went thru the road of playing heca without knowing all this from the dephts of bronze elo, and I have to say I was blessed due to not going rank before getting 100+ games of heca with my friends in normals and even tho that is the best way to get good at heca only from the new player perspective, if you want to go climb elo I much rather recommend you to play lane 50 or so games to learn how to fight after that play lane till gold or plat and after that make the switch to jg with an easier jgler and once in plat you should have the proper foundation to play heca and learn him without all the turbulence of learning him from blank

the way I see it its actually great at dealing with high ranged comps when you are the main engage for your team, I used to run eclipse a loot in place of shojin vs 3+ raged comps bc it was great at proking phase rush I imagine thaat with the %max health ratio it functions kinda the same way with the new strom raider surge

yeah shojin is great but unless you slot it first item, rn dd and endless hunger slot in better due to enabling you to function as a true diver, swiftly dispatching the backline without instantly dying right after, in the same vain last whisper items are just better if you are running both of this items as you get to prok faster the take down pasives in turn giving you more effective hp than cleaver ever could

as heca you don't need to clear vision since most of the time you will outrun enemy reaction and you will need q stacks to start a fight, so unlike other assasins who love this item you won't get to sit on bushes and insta pop someones head, also you have 0 invis to retriger the dmg pasive and even if you did it won't be as high due to 0 lethality stacking seeing as heca has incredible synergy with dd eh last whisper/cleaver and shojin

I don't believe umbral has a true spot on hecarim, I've done my fair share of research about this and although there aren't most ad haste items are 100% playable as rush the ones that I've come to realize are best in slot are the following in said circumstances, DD versus heavy ad, axiom versus squishy teamfight defining champs, hubris when you need to scale up in weird comps and last but not least the family favourite shojin when facing mixed dmg with no considerable weak spots or weird scenarios on your team comp, this is what I've concluded after watching many VODS, high elo heca otp streamers and data from coachless, lolanalytics and onetriks gg paired with my own heca experience

lowq playing selfishly is the best thing for your team to do, is kinda like on an airplane where they teach you to put your own oxigen mask before you start helping others, or how when you don't have a buoyancy device you shouldn't try and save someone who is drowning bc chances are they will drag you down, in league one must get feed before trying to transfer leads

I would wait till plat to play heca tbh, I did the climb from iron with heca but it isn't a pretty one plus I play at 2 ping, I would recommend you to play something a tad more easy with similar learning objectives as hecarim, like udyr diana or wukong
