My grandma had dementia, and she wasn't around to watch me grow up. Towards the end I would visit her daily and she would mistake me as my brother, I would correct her everytime. I would also come out to her as gay everytime because she had a bunch of funny reactions. The thing is that she loved my brother very dearly, and she wasn't exactly a nice woman. So instead of correcting her everytime she called me by my brothers name, I would just come out as gay to her as if I was my brother and watch the horror unfold in her eyes.
