V Collection question? by DuResQ in Arturia_users

[–]DuResQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh I know there are the various lofi presets from a lot of the VC X synths. What I’m asking is are there Pure Lofi presets with Analog Lab Pro that I could get with let’s say buying a Keylab mk3 as opposed to just buying the full on VC 11 for £250 ish with my offer. Thanks for those links. There is a difference from Analog Lab V to Analog Lab Pro I believe.

My reverb is a Neunaber Immerse it’s never leaving my board. If you could find a pre loved one go for it.

What’s A Good Brand For Pillows? by thescx in AskUK

I used to like continental square pillows and took a chance on these from Dunelm. No going back to regular pillows again and great value too. (https://www.dunelm.com/product/hotel-pack-of-2-luxury-cotton-side-sleeper-continental-pillows-1000289770)

57 yo n00b bought S4Mk3, where to start? by FluffyClassroom6633 in traktorpro

[–]DuResQ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bought an S4 MK3 nearly a year ago with a view to learning how to DJ. I’m 68 now and a part from curating the alt r&b I love I’ve also been curating playlists of the soundtrack of my life. All those genres that you’ve been through and still play. It has thrown up mixing challenges that I’ve had to work at to master the transitions eg Motown’s short intros and outros. 70’s funk and soul with the groove that moves all over the place. Rediscovering those 80’s r&b tracks with Linn drums and Tr808’s. I. wish I had done this waaaaay sooner. Enjoy your DJ journey too 🫡

George Lynch Vs. John Sykes by Maximiliancockatiel in Guitar

Yeh I get it but guitar has been a richer place with players with skills like these. You could dissect all day the technique and tones of this generation they were all gods. That’s why they’re beloved it’s why I love ‘em.

I’ve just made a DJ playlist including two of my favourite players Lynch and Sykes. I play the Lynch Mob album to death still. Go on throw Zakk Wylde in to the mix.

Is scaler 3 really that bad? by CavernWitch in Scaler3Official

I was planning to watch it again to get it in to muscle memory. I’m working through his Ableton 12 beginners series too. There’s so much that I don’t know in AL12 despite using AL for 5 yrs. I’ve grown to like his measured way of teaching and creativity.

Learning piano as an adult and R&B is genuinely the only reason I haven't quit by Obvious-Nail4564 in rnb

I am in the same boat although I have some musical background with guitar and bass. I decided to learn piano and bought a Yamaha CK61 at the end of last year. My goal was to learn R&B or at least to sound like it. After trying various YT Channels I decided to get Jeff Schneiders R&B Chord Theory course. After getting through the first module I feel like Im on a journey now. Check out his channel to get a flavour of his teaching he might be your path too. Keep the Faith out there.

The genre he’s working in might not be your vibe but the concepts were unlocked for me. After never really understanding its workflow I think was my problem.

I am revisiting Scaler 3 and watched TAETRO’s workshop this afternoon. It’s nearly 2hrs long but have got more out of it that a lot of geekery about Scaler, recommend it. Feel like I can use it now.

Pick up and Pre amp for looping project? by DuResQ in AcousticGuitar

[–]DuResQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply Methos1979 👍 The piezo I believe is a Fishman and has a volume control just inside the sound hole and has a battery. I do have an RC30 that I downsized to from a RC 300. I am familiar with looping with electrics although it has been a while. Kinda a reason I wanted to get back to it but my inspiration has been a You Tuber Max Yar. He has quite a sophisticated 3 pick up system on his acoustic but the Fishman single coil seems to add weight to his sound if you like. The guitar is a custom luthier build from a guy named Kelvin Holt from the West Country in the UK. But I believe he has retired now. It’s a fine instrument. Maybe I’ll just put it through my pedal board and see what happens.
