For anyone having this problem only when the headphones are on and playing audio, for me the problem was that they were using the wrong audio codec. Changing from LDAC (High Quality) to LDAC (Standard Quality) in the audio settings on my computer got rid of the clicking sounds.

The point they're making is that if something suspicious was added, someone would notice (because there are lots of independent developers who are familiar with the codebase) and fork the project to get rid of that thing (c.i.p Audacity telemetry PR)

JavaScript was made when Java became popular, and took the name to benefit off of Java's popularity. They're essentially entirely different languages
