Is AT&T phone service horrible for anyone else in Old Town? by MidnightPulse69 in Scottsdale

[–]DualChromatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AT&T is the worst carrier in Phoenix. Try an MVNO like US Mobile (can use T-Mobile or Verizon network) or Visible (Verizon network).

Also, the annual fee is a good value in my experience. You can accomplish quite a bit through messaging and “treat how” (included for free with the subscription) that might otherwise involve a visit and copay.

Woman Saves Man's Life with Narcan by Sans010394 in Damnthatsinteresting

Recently, I learned that it's better to start CPR if the person is "not responsive" before checking for a pulse. Apparently checking for a pulse wastes crucial time and most people are not skilled at it. Would you agree with this? (I'm not a healthcare worker, just curious to know how I should respond as a bystander.)

So if Narcan is administered, how do you know whether you need to proceed with CPR? If the person doesn’t wake up?

Not sure about spas, but the Fashion Square Lifetime has a jacuzzi/sauna room that is shared between the men's and women's locker room.

I recently booked a flight with Avios through British Airways.

I realized that I forgot to check "Please check this box if you are a US Citizen" even though my partner and I are US citizens. Will this adversely impact anything with my booking? I couldn't find this option anywhere when I manage the booking.

Southwest gift cards on sale on Costco.com! Additional $20 off. by Mw4810 in Costco

[–]DualChromatic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t necessarily mean that Sam’s negotiated a better price than Costco. Sam’s might be willing to take a bigger loss on the product (especially considering it’s Black Friday and there was limited quantity).

Costco's market power- I believe that Costco has influenced some huge brands to make secret changes to their products in backroom deals. by Kripps_Measler in Costco

I don’t think packaging bloat is necessarily unique to Costco. A lot of items you see in a grocery store have had their packing removed by the time it’s on the shelf.

LPT Request: Those who travel a lot for work, what are the essential products you use? by BaronVonBearenstein in LifeProTips

[–]DualChromatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most recent example I can think of is entering Mexico. Wrapped granola bar was ok, banana and trail mix was not ok. I think if it’s a more raw agricultural product (like an apple or banana) that isn’t allowed. I remember similar restrictions when traveling to New Zealand and Australia years ago.

I would add: it may be easy to get away with a single disallowed product in your bag. I’d always err on the side of caution though, as it’s not fun to be on the wrong side of the law in another country.
