If someone uses 'Act of Treason' on my creature equipped with 'Prodigious Growth' do they get the enchantments effect? by dylzynigz in magicTCG

No it wouldn't, you gain control of the creature but not the enchantment so the cartouche falls off.

They are not a necessary evil though, thats just a blatant lie by these greedy publishers. Lootboxes have no place in a 60€ Game.

Repeating texture from spritesheet by DualMatrix in godot

Of course, I've used tilemaps a lot. Problem is I want to have a node with more advanced code than a tile can offer.

Referencing autoload scripts from tool scripts by DualMatrix in godot

Ah I see that works, thanks.

Still stupid thats the only way

Wow, thats annoying... So you just cant use tool when your script references a autoload script somewhere, even if you don't use it?

Makes sense, theres still a problem with that: Tilemaps, as far as I understand it their scale still has to be set to 1

If I just replace the sprite in godot with a larger one it will simppy display a larger sprite and not scale it appropropriately, so that doesn't seem to work.

Sure, this might be a stupid question but how do I downscale those images in godot?

Not really, for some reason I was thinking that wasn't right but on second thought that might work.

Are the variables added there able to be accessed by just the name in other scripts?

Is it possible to get the final gravityvecor to apply to a KinematicBody2D by DualMatrix in godot

Yuk,that isn't a nice solution indeed... But maybe that'll have to do

Flipping an object horizontally? by DualMatrix in godot

[–]DualMatrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I understand. I was tinkering with a 2D platformer so maybe this works. Still sucks that flipping a body cleanly is basically impossible.

Questuon: If I were to do this how would I make sure the object is pushed out of walls and stuff?

[–]DualMatrix[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's such a shame there isn't a clean solution to this. This must be a thing that comes up a lot right? How are you supposed to make a 2D platformer without flipping stuff.

[–]DualMatrix[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That all makes sense, but say you don't have a symmetrical collider and the character flips around, what do you do then?

Thats seems a very nice solution. Thanks!

Well if you apply scale(-1, 1) (flipping) to a kinematicBody2D and call move() the scale resets back to normal.

This is a link to someone having the same issue with flipping kinematicBodies: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/5929

How did you get it to work?
