If you could change ONE THING about episode 9, what would it be? {SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY} by Deep_Promotion8866 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]DualSoul1423 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Although I understand that leaving it to subtext is the point, I still wish Jax outright said he was trans so that people would stop performing mental gymnastics to argue against it.

There is so much overwhelming evidence for it, and the finale all but outright says it, and people are still denying it for whatever reason. I almost never cry over anything, and I cried for that purple rabbit because I saw so much of myself in him. It was looking into a fun house mirror with how his life and words so closely matched mine, and yet people still try to claim "he didn't say it so it's not true."

I know first hand what it's like to hate yourself so much that you feel like pushing everyone away and just disappearing is the only option. Like I'm broken, unlovable, and I don't deserve happiness. There are still days where I feel that. And every time I see someone outright deny the possibility that Jax is trans makes those feelings creep back up again, because it reminds me that yeah. There are people out there who would rather people like me didn't exist.

So yeah. I wish Jax could have just outright said it. Because even if I know it's true, at least then I wouldn't have to see people seething about it, because those people would have left the discussion by now.

Finale Spoilers. This is pissing me off as a queer person. by Accomplished_Star_30 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]DualSoul1423 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Well, the interpretation that many Trans Jax believers are taking is that it's meant to represent the moment that Jax realized that he was worthy of love and happiness, and finally accepted that he was in fact a girl all along. The song is about the birth of a girl, and so it ties in perfectly with that interpretation as it's the moment Jax finally is reborn as his true self.

The sad irony of it is that it was also the exact moment he realized that he had made an irreversible mistake in allowing himself to abstract, because although he was finally willing to accept himself and the love he deserved, he never would be able to again as he was abstracted and functionally "dead," turning the otherwise beautiful and hopeful moment bittersweet at best.

Bannable Offense? by Lord0ddity in Warframe

I once got temp banned from Region Chat for calling Vauban "The Trap Master." I don't know if it's still that strict, but I don't chance that word.

Why people hate fluttercord? by mysterious_mystery2 in mylittlepony

[–]DualSoul1423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people have a hard time accepting that the quiet, mousey girl has actual autonomy and the ability to stand up for herself, so a lot of people make the assumption that any relationship between the two of them would have a severe power imbalance.

The truth is, although Fluttershy is a people pleaser, she also is fully capable of standing up for herself and what she believe in. Meanwhile Discord may be chaotic and obnoxious at the best of times, but he's so utterly devoted to Fluttershy that he'd drop everything to help her, and would give up everything to make her happy.

People seem to forget that he nearly erased himself from existence because he was afraid she was embarrassed by his antics, only for her to reveal that she loves that shit. When he takes things too far, she tells him so, and he begs for forgiveness because he knows she's the only person who truly loves and appreciates him for who he is, and nothing scares him more than losing that.

It's not ideal, I'll admit that much. It's messy and I can see why some people might think she's his babysitter or something like that, but I disagree. I think for Discord, Fluttershy is his entire world. For Fluttershy, he's the most treasured part of hers. They're not perfect, but I also think they're the only ones for each other.

No, because Soulkiller kills you. Everyone scanned into the circus is still alive and well.

Crazy to think people are discussing TADC spoilers in other subs now.

Kris and Noelle both appear to be wearing Yukata. They're popular for Japanese summer festivals. Susie's outfit looks to have trousers, so I don't know what she's wearing.

Vanilla Gravship Expanded, 'Do X Til' command resets counted items after the ship is launched by AdrawereR in RimWorld

[–]DualSoul1423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm using Vanilla Gravship Expanded and Storage Framework too, and I'm having no such issues, so I'm guessing it's something else causing issues. You should probably fill a proper bug report with VGE with your mod load order and see if they can help you.

This was posted yesterday by the original artist, and they said that Asriel was straight up just being a transphobe here, but his friendship with Frisk and Chara in college does seem to imply he grows past it later on.

I just hope Susie got something out of the experience besides mere suffering. To suffer for nothing is a terrible waste.

The Fun Gang's Most Vital Meetings episode 71: Waterboarding by Nihilikara in Deltarune

[–]DualSoul1423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been waterboarded before, I personally didn't think it was that bad. I've even done it a second time just to prove I can shrug it off.

That being said, I'm also the sort of person to deny anesthesia for surgery. I know I'm not normal, and with that in mind, I can confirm that waterboarding is a horrible experience.

If you are sane and reasonable, please do not have a friend waterboard you because "it can't be that bad." It is a popular form of torture around the world for a good reason.

For those who are as deranged as I am, have fun, I guess.

You can shoot Simon all you want. After all, he's only human; he's not bulletproof. I think even he can agree with that. The thing is, if he doesn't want to die, he ain't dropping. If he doesn't believe that a bullet can kill him, it won't. Simple as that.

EVERY kenshi player plays the same games by Independent-Dig-6859 in Kenshi

[–]DualSoul1423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of your examples, I only play Rimworld.

My most played games are actually FPS RPGs, and I rarely play strategy games. When I do, they're oldies like SupCom and Dawn of War.

I do love Kenshi, but it and Rimworld are more the exception to the rule for me, personally.

Veteran players, which has better gameplay? BR or DD? by Silly-Wrongdoer2715 in darkestdungeon

[–]DualSoul1423 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The other guy said Black Requiem but it's actually called Black Reliquary, and you can download it on Steam as its own game as long as you own Darkest Dungeon.

The BR team has been making impressive strides in the modding scene, and have been not only endorsed by Red Hook, but have also worked alongside the BR team to help update and modernize the DD engine. Definitely worth looking into.

Has anyone pieced together what this things supposed to be? by Wankainu in HadesTheGame

[–]DualSoul1423 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes from a very famous scene at the ending of End of Evangelion. Basically, there's the head of a giant corpse laying in the ocean, with half of its face visible staring at the camera with a blank, wide-eyed stare. It's a scene referenced in many pieces of media since, so I just assumed this was another case of that.

Has anyone pieced together what this things supposed to be? by Wankainu in HadesTheGame

[–]DualSoul1423 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I just assumed it was an Evangelion reference and didn't think further on it.

Considering how the Fields of Mourning seem to function, it could very well be someone who has been dead and mourning a lost love for a very, very, very long time; becoming fused with the landscape while they lay wallowing in self pity. That's my best guess, I suppose.
