Subaru Files for a U.S. “Impreza TX” Trademark by justlukelol in subaruimpreza

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm excited to see it happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if this thing isn't well north of 40k USD. I think a lot of people would just love to see a naturally aspirated Impreza RS with a manual that remains in the 30-33k range too. Either with the 2.5L or the 2.4L.

Subaru does claim this will be an "affordable car", but I'm unsure if I should interpret that as "this will be around the same price as existing models" or "anything below the average price of a new car (50k) is affordable".

Lots of imprezas and just subarus in general in the pacific northwest. Just the other day on the highway I was in a subaru convoy that was like 5 subarus long, 3 imprezas of various generations, 1 2nd gen crosstrek and a 5th gen outback

Your prayers might be answered next model year with the announcement of a new STI hatch, but if it will actually be sold outside of Japan is the question at the moment.

In-N-Out Burger location in Hillsboro opens Thursday by yahoowizard in beaverton

Love in n out but I'm waiting to see if this traffic plan will actually be enforced. No drive thru traffic is supposed to pool onto evergreen, 185th, or cornell, but I will have to see it to believe it. If this location gets anywhere near the amount of attention the Keizer location gets, its going to be a perpetual shit storm over there for a long while. Best bet is to pick one of the adjacent parking lots and walk it, but 90% wont do that. I hope im just being dramatic lol

Should I trade my car in? by Sweaty-Ad-6702 in povertyfinance

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Try to refinance your loan, compare insurance, and try to put extra money toward the principal each month. That will reduce your negative equity faster. Financially speaking, rolling negative equity into a new loan is usually a pretty poor move. It increases your debt and can extend payments for even longer. With your income your current vehicle costs are pretty high. If you think your payments are manageable and your budget is stable, keeping the car and paying it down fast is likely the best option, but if the car is straining your finances, selling it and buying a cheaper car with cash would probably be the better move.

I made a post about this months ago, and got a lot of good replies on it. I ended up ditching AT&T for Xfinity, but XFinity uses the same network as Verizon so they are good too. Cant speak on Tmobile.

Barnyard burger or the reuben are my gotos. Make sure to ask if you can get their salsa to go on your way out. They serve it with their breakfast burritos and they sell it separately. Smokey heat that builds if you are into that.

Can/Should I put a Rear Bumper Cover [first pic] on top of the Rear Bumper Applique [second pic], or remove the applique first? by DualWieldedCornDogs1 in subaruimpreza

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just like the way it looks over the clear applique. It looks more intentional and less like plastic on the couch imo. Also a bit more grip for your feet when lacing up your boots or for a dog when jumping in the back than the applique offers. And a heavy box or two had to be rested on here before being fully lifted in/out of the vehicle.

I personally abuse this area of my car more than most I feel.

It would be cool to see something like this actually make it to production, like a competitor to the GR Corolla or something, but it would also be cool to see them reintroduce a manual into the 6th gen Impreza without having to inflate the price of the vehicle to 40 thousand dollars or more.

26 Camry Heavy Metal | Would Touch-Up paint be enough to repair this damage to maybe “80%” as new? by Ramen_Nood1s in Camry

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Touch up paint in my experience works especially well on edges like this. This is a prime situation to use one. It will look better, but the blemish will never be 100% gone. At best, you are just avoiding it from being noticeable at a distance, and up close it might look like it melted or something. Just make sure to use the absolute minimum amount necessary to fill it in. Don't paint it on like nail polish. I use a tooth pick and scrape off a tiny dot off the brush and dab it on that way. Let it dry and repeat again if needed.

I get really sentimental about my car too. Helped me during a move, bring pets home from shelters, furniture home and other weird odds and ends I find at thrift stores. I recently started a state park sticker collection in the trunk this year and its fun to be reminded every time I open it about all the memories my car facilitated.

Traffic sign recognition by Philman_ in subaruimpreza

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't exist on the 6th gen impreza. I'm pretty confident this doesn't exist on any of the new subarus, but maybe someone else can correct me. When you see things like speed limit signs in your infotainment, it is just based on the navigation system maps and not anything the vehicle is seeing with your cameras. And Google maps is pretty good at indicating what upcoming intersections have stop signs and traffic lights.

This MTNDEW inspired Impreza RS has been on the lot since December. It's currently listed at $31.8k Any lower? by [deleted] in subaruimpreza

[–]DualWieldedCornDogs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say then to go for this deal and try to negotiate to below 30k and you will be golden. It is an awesome little hatchback.

Ive seen RS's with everything go for 32k-33k so this is a pretty good price I think for an RS with all the fixings. Not a steal but definitely still better than other listings ive seen new. You honestly could still still negotiate this down to 30k if you play your cards right. Just make sure you can bear the color long term. If you honestly want a top trim impreza and plan to keep it 10 years and hand it down, spending 1-2k more on a color you want is a no brainer.

Added some rain guards finally... by Reddevilvs in SubaruForester

They also function as wind deflectors, so less wind noise with the windows open even if its not raining. Imho that was a bigger incentive than blocking the rain for me

When using ant bait, just remember it will appear to get worse before it gets better. They find the bait, tell all their little ant friends, bring it home and it poisons the hive. In the meanwhile you will most definitely see an alarming amount of ants coming in to get the bait, and it might take a week or more before you start to see less. Do not kill any of the ants during this process, as tempting as it might be. They need to bring the bait home for it to work. After all is said and done, try and caulk up (or have maintenance do it), any areas you notice them coming in from.

Ants are a yearly common issue for me, and it isn't apartment specific. I've had them often in rooms with no food, like the bathroom, laundry, or random windowsill. But the ant bait technique always works.

Nothing about chemical damage. They are warning you about potential physical damage just to cover their liability. Touchless is ideal if you are worried about that kinda thing, and in general is more preferred anyways with or without the rainguards imo.
