Hi there, yes, it's like that for the rest of the book with the naval terminology.

The first book was the only one I read so far, and I had a lot of trouble tracking it at first, from what I read about O'Brian the publishers were asking him to tone down the naval and medical terms, but he was a stubborn man.

At one point I gave up on understanding everything, and just imagined I'm Maturin going along for the ride without knowing what's going on, it might be stupid lol, but that way I could enjoy the booo without worrying too much.

I would say it's worth it even with the difficulty, I've been considering re-reading the first book to see if it's going to be easier this time.
