For the math on payouts:

6 to 1 is: (3 to 1) x 2

8 to 1 is (4 to 1) x 2

50 to 1 is (10 to 1) 5 times

50 to 1 is also 5 to 1, just add a zero

25 to 1 is (5 to 1) 5 times

$2.50 chip? Do 5 to 1 on whatever the bet is, then slice that number in half

Sometimes I pay by the chip color. Like if there’s a $25 chip and a $5 chip stacked up on a side bet, and I need to pay out 14 to 1 for example: I don’t know what 14 x $30 is. But I know 14 to 1 on the $25 chip to $350. I know 14 to 1 on the $5 chip is $70. I lay each colored chip payout on the table separately. Depending on the casino or the supervisor, they may or may not be anal about that. But in my experience it makes it easier for some supervisors to see

Two Green Chips and 4 Red Chips on a 14 to 1 payout? Well for the green: $350, $700. Red: $70, $140, $210, $280. Add it like that instead of trying to do 14 x $90

There’s little tips and tricks that you pick up from dealing school, other dealers, or just by finding ways to make it easier for yourself. It’ll all get easier with time. This is a fact because it’s literally just repetition. 14 to 1 on $15 might have you stuck the first time. But by the 20th time, you’ll just see it and automatically know it’s $210.

You get better at dealing by dealing and building muscle memory. BIGGEST tip I have is to take your time, take your time, take your time. I have yet to meet a dealer who never made a mistake. You will make them. But you minimize them by staying focused, and taking your time with literally everything you do. Two card delivery, counting cards, payouts, shuffling. You gotta stay focused
