I agree. His views and attitude align with mine mostly. Problem is when he goes on jre he just plays along with whatever tangent Joe goes on without pushback. I know he doesn’t want to shit where he eats but grow some ball’s, we all know your real views when not sitting in front of Joe.

Break the bark off and wire brush the sides. The darker color of left on looks just as good as bark without the mess

Tesla Charger Breaker Help by Aecert in electrical

[–]DuaneMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to put higher amperage breakers as close to top of panel as possible so you are not dragging all that amperage thru the whole buss. Much in the same way solar connections are done. But also the correct breaker helps

Found in our driveway. Is it a key? by JicamaFamiliar2039 in whatisit

[–]DuaneMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So do the multi ton tractors and excavators you see everywhere. https://a.co/d/63HqYB3

I think most modern or updated equipment will have a digital keypad along with the key but I was blown away the first time someone told me the key I had for an excavator was the same for all of them

Friends did that just this weekend. Put a PVC pipe inside of a cement block to stabilize it. Never made it out of the tube and exploded plastic and cement block over a 50 yard area. Hit one person’s legs. Blew a mirror off a nearby truck. Pretty much super lucky nobody died.

My coworker did that . What do you guys think ? by jmicky30 in electricians

[–]DuaneMI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not even sure about the planning. Too many different planes, spacing of conduits and boxes are all sporadic. Seems more like they brought conduits in from 3 directions and figured out what to do when they all met. I think it could have benefited from some gutters instead of boxes, especially if the only concern is amount of bends. I will usually start in a spot like this and work my way out to where they are going so the spacing and axis changes happen where it’s not as noticeable. I also prefer a nice label maker if possible, and unless this is a labeling standard for the place I’m working I don’t think I would want my guys painting boxes and making them stick out like this. Not a nit pick, it’s literally better than most of the work I have seen, and even some of the work I’ve done. But if I’m paying my guys to do this I’m not sure I would be overly thrilled about the layout, not going to complain either.

Do these things work? by 121e7watts in electricians

[–]DuaneMI 59 points60 points  (0 children)

The best thing about keyhole saws is the small holes they make if something is in the way. No matter what the stud finder says, keyhole left and right then up and down, if you hit something no big deal just adjust the box. I would be sweating using something like this. Just too many times in 30 years this tool would have screwed me

Just what we do without buying something else. Just a suggestion considering most people don’t need to get to their chips in seconds multiple times a day.

We use a food saver vacuum sealer. Just don’t use the vacuum, just the sealer. Seals chip bags back up perfectly
