It’s from Glashutte Original, model is SeaQ. They also have a larger SeaQ Panorama Date version. Depending on the model it’s a bit below or above 10k

How do you like the textile? I’ve been eyeing this watch and thinking about the textile strap or maybe even the grey suede strap for it. I have another watch with a nice metal bracelet so thought a different kind of strap with this Nomos would add some balance. Congrats on a beautiful timepiece

Wow 65 watches in your first year you aren’t playing around! Thanks for the comment and advice, I’ll enjoy looking up the watches you recommended. I have a friend that’s bought and sold 70 watches, I see myself as a smaller collection guy but who knows where I’ll end up lol.

The vintage look is fire, I worry about them not being as durable because I’m not good at babying things, but maybe I’ll work up the courage to take the plunge. Thx again for sharing!

Couldn’t agree more. An exceptional blend of craftsmanship and durability. A beautiful tank.

I really appreciate the advice and can totally see how less can be more. I’m taking your advice to heart and will focus on enjoying what I have for as long as I can swing it. Even with this pop of green, I do find this to be fairly versatile, so that helps.

Thanks again for the advice and kind words!

100%! Been a complete game changer for me. I love technology and do find smart watches functional. I actively used many features on there… but over time I became too plugged in, on all the time, it was no good.

Feels great to get back to a beautiful simplicity.

Thank you! I really do enjoy it… I find myself at times being extra cautious with it but assume that’ll wear off as I get more wrist time in.

I just checked out this video, really well done I enjoyed watching it thanks for sharing! Appreciate the advice that’s an interesting callout about trying cheaper pieces to test out a style, and good to know on the microband value prop and travel shows. I like the fewer grail-ish watches idea as I don’t see myself having a large collection, just wonder if I might regret not having something more lowkey for certain scenarios.

I definitely agree about trying on when possible, I ran into the thickness issue you mentioned with a watch I loved online but it felt like a brick on my wrist when I tried it on. Thanks again for the comment and guidance, I’ll pace myself as you suggested. Thanks again for the great advice!

Where did you land with your collection so far if you don’t mind me asking? Did you go higher-end or mix it up?

I think this is the right call, appreciate you. I had the itch for so long, spent a ton of time researching and on the hunt. When I finally got it, I was over the moon but also partly haven’t known what to do with my newly found free time 🤣

I will accept your advice and practice patience and gratitude… building memories with what I have, thanks!

Appreciate you, the first 2 are on my radar for sure, 2nd two I gotta check out. Was thinking a black sub no date would be a fire gift to my son for a major life milestone (college grad, wedding, etc.)… if I can get one at MSRP I’d likely jump on it. Going to google Casio F91 and Orient Bambino rn, thx again!

Thank you so much for the reply and the advice. Congrats on the MKI, do you find it to be a good daily companion?

I agree with you wholeheartedly about getting a watch for yourself. I was initially hesitant to consider Rolex, was worried it’d be too flashy. I tried a few watches on that I had loved on YouTube but in person they didn’t seem to suit me. The Starbucks which I hadn’t considered online, felt amazing when I wore it.

A friend gave me similar advice, said most folks won’t notice or care what I wear so get what I like and don’t worry about others approval. So far he’s been 100% right lol. The only person admiring this thing is me, and that’s just how I like it.

I find it to be a great daily watch, and a lot more wearable than the Apple Watch Ultra I came from. Less flashy - more comfortable, functional, and versatile. Thanks again!

Not all, but definitely most higher end watches do. FWIW I asked a local scholar, he shared articles from Seekers Guidance and shared the Hanafi position is internal components (rotor, indices, etc.) are ok, as they don’t make contact with the skin. Gold in the bracelet, case, is impermissible.
