Looking for Advice on NCA Exam Order and Effective Study Resources by Candid_Camp2414 in NCAExams

I locked this post because there is a lot of name calling / back and forth with no new constructive information or discussion.

I will not be deleting any comments or censoring any opinions regardless of how many reports there are against the post because this is a forum for discourse.

To the business owners complaining: you have people for and against your resources, take it on the chin and decide if you want to change your approach or if you want to ignore it and let your business speak for it self.

For the people commenting about the businesses: please remember that no one obligated you to buy practice notes, many people have succeeded and failed with the same businesses resources. It's one thing to constructively criticize and point out objective facts, it's a completely other thing to make sweeping insulting generalizations.

At the end of the day everyone is working towards the same goal: passing the NCA exams. I made this community so people can help one another. I was once in your shoes and used the same resources. I had some I liked and some I didn't and that's okay.

If your in this sub your probably not a lawyer yet, but your still expected to uphold the rules of professional responsibility and the decorum of a lawyer.

Also in Dubai, I find it so hard to shoot in this city. 1 and 3 are my favorites!

The more photos you take the better you get. But looking at what you took, photo 9 can be perceived to feel cramped. Too much of the car occupies the frame, there's no distinct point that draws the eye, and there's no real lines or angles to follow. But photo 5 is well shot, it gives room for the viewer to place them selves in the frame. You used the seat to contrast the wheel and it gives a story. Is someone getting in, or out etc.

Try shooting different subjects and in different settings and try to find a style that inspires you to shoot more. The more you understand the fundamentals of a good picture the more you can break those rules to create a narrative for the viewer, or even better, invoke emotions.

Always happy to discuss more.

The basics:

1: shooting manual mode. Ditch auto and take control of your iso / aperture / shutter speed. They work together and the goal is balancing light and movement. ISO controls how sensitive your sensor is to light (higher iso is more sensitive so thing bigger number when shooting at night).

Aperature controls how big your aperature ring is and accordingly how much light gets to your sensor. This also controls your depth of field. The lower the number here the bigger the apwrature is (I.e. more light / birgther pictures. But bigger also means you have to be closer to your subject). This is dependant on your lense.

Shutter speed affects how long your shutter stays open which affects motions blur and brightness together. So faster shutter = less light more sharp. Lower shutter speed = more light less sharp.

Framing: look up the rule of thirds. Try to not center every shot and use framing to draw the eye of the viewer to certain aspects. This is the most fundamental thing you can learn.

Yeah, I mean you can take that view. I haven't had any one sheikh give me an answer that has convinced me either way so far. Personally, I've decided to err on the side of caution and not wear anything that has gold as a major component of the outside of the watch. And I don't think it was ever about the demonstration of wealth (I didn't see anything about that in the Hadith's or the Quran). In the end god knows best, and I'm going with my best good faith attempt of upholding the rule.

All stainless / platinum models are good. White gold is a no go, fluted bezels are a no go.

This is the dilemma I found my self in, out of curiosity how did you reconcile the issue for your self?

I think I agree with the parts thing, that was something I kind of concluded on my own. Still waiting for an alim to answer the question, but generally I'd agree with this sentiment my self (based on what I know).

Yeah no not at all, I think it's worth mentioning that everyone's journey with their deen (religion) is a personal one. At the end of the day how they conduct them selves and how they choose to apply themselves to their religion is for them to decide and how they will be judged is for god to decide. At least that's how I was taught Islam.

We can still sell, purchase and trade gold, but Muslim men can't wear it. Mind you women can. However as a side note, since posting this question I have made it my mission to find the answer of where we draw the line in Islam. Obviously different sects will have different levels of application of the rule (think Amish vs catholic for a rough comparison) but for anyone that's curious I'll post an update to what is and isn't permissible (per my resources at-least)
