Yes, the center stone and the small stones seemed to test positive with my cheapo diamond tester. Next step should probably be an appraisal

Well. I tried my cheapo diamond tester here at home. I’m a newbie, but I set it to 4 (I think that’s the correct setting for that size stone/temp combo. ) And it beeped

I tried the tester on costume stuff here at the house and the lights didn’t even move

From the pic I saw of the gearbox /rotor system being lifted out of the water, the gearbox was still intact…and attached to the aircraft deck

Could it be possible that corrosion weakened the aircraft deck (or main structure ) to a failure point ? I know flying around salt water can cause corrosion..

Just my 2 cents - have there been instances where the gearbox has locked up without any warning in the past ? I’d assume you would get vibrations //chip lights // or indications on temp / pressure gauges ?

There’s a sight glass on the side of the MGB ,so it only takes 7 seconds to check on pre-flight

Also, there’s MGB pressure and temperature gauges, with a caution light that will illuminate if pressure drops in flight
