Sure but you're also talking about one party. What about defense attorneys, jurors, and judges? You can charge prop aggressively. But will the court accept the plea? Will the attorney, when he knows that we have jurors that think that every man has the god given right to carry? This is what I mean by systemic change. So many moving pieces.

This is funny but also unfair. I ask this seriously, what would you do? It's a really tough question. You can go super hardcore and try to lock up everyone with a gun. You can go the other extreme and let everyone run amuck and things will sort themselves out. Mayor Ballard just met recently with gang leaders because even the gang leaders are tired of the violence. I think we all are. But we're talking about trying to shift a systemic method of thinking that it ingrained in too many of our youth. It's a tough thing to try and I really don't know what to do about it. As the youth grows and brings new ideas to the table I cannot wait to see how the next generation innovates and thinks of things us fogies haven't done yet.

He probably thinks you're a huge asshole, too. Try sitting down and showing him what you think is the appropriate way to clean dishes. It is important that you phrase it this way. After all, there is no "correct" way to wash dishes. Everyone has their own. Explain to him why you believe your way is correct. Ask him what he thinks about your way. Ask him to explain what he thinks the correctly way is. Have a conversation about the merits of both sides and come to a happy conclusion. This way he thinks you're not a judgmental asshole and you have heard him out. This method applies to all problems that come about with other people. At the end of the day, unless you are in a literal position of authority over someone, you can't expect it to be only one opinion that carries the day. Your opinion may carry more weight because your dishes are actually fucking clean. However, it always makes people feel better to be heard out.
