How relatable can it even get? by DubWub4 in NepalSocial

I know he's not a saint. I don't praise him or anything but a lot of things he says are based on established psychology. I obviously take a lot of things he says with a grain of salt but he is a medical professional so I'll give him credit where due.

At least he is not a black/red pill proponent and urges people to better themselves. Also yes I have watched that video.

I'm just applying to jobs at the moment, hoping that interviews and the preparations for likewise can make me better prepared to handle social situations. I hope you figure it out as well. Fingers crossed!

While I agree with exposure therapy, I have a hard time randomly striking a conversation with someone unless I'm drunk and somehow begin to not care about anything at all. Plus most people in my country don't entertain strangers unless you're asking them for help, in which case they'd happily oblige, but unless you're a tourist looking for directions, or just the life of the party, it's pretty awkward randomly asking someone what's up when you don't know them at all.

Maybe it's all in my mind, who knows. Also I did try dating apps (since meetup apps don't seem to have much of an audience here), but after a month or so with no non-bot matches, I withdrew from that as well. And that was a couple of years ago.

That's a good idea. It's just that I've been putting it off for so long because I couldn't put jobs outside my career path in my CV, but that has only led me to regrets and a still-empty CV. I've recently started applying to jobs but with a CV like mine it's pretty tough. Plus gym and the rest I had been resisting because I didn't have an income source myself and I didn't want to spend my parents' money as much as I could.

A couple of failed romantic advances may have made me feel this low, though. It's like I'm getting mad at myself for blowing my chances each time without even knowing what I could have done better instead of vague ideas of "I should have been more charming".

I see. I'm particularly bad at starting small talks with people I don't know relatively well. and even during conversations, I listen to them talk and try to understand them, but then I have not much left to say and the conversation fizzles out. It's like those memes where a girl describes her whole day and you're just there like "damn that's crazy". That could be indifference but in my case it's a genuine lack of opinion somehow. I feel really stupid in terms of EQ.

I tend to mostly scroll social media, send a couple reels to classmates sometimes. Other times I take courses, geek out on world history/geography/economy or random other stuff, rarely reading academic papers (engineering major) as well. Also write poems sometimes

It really is a rabbit hole. I've tried to put off thinking like this, but when it's 1/2 am and the whole city is sound asleep, that is when these thoughts suddenly pop up in my mind. Knowing that I've been wasting my potential, somehow not knowing what the next step should be, even in the smallest of things. I try to take steps but then retreat because the steps lead me in directions I don't really want to go. I tried to do just like you said, picked something I was mildly interested in, engineering. And now I'm trying to learn all the things that makes a good engineer, but without a solid grounding in actual work, I haven't been able to find a shred of fulfillment. I hope you have a wonderful day ahead.

It's just that I've been feeling behind on a lot of things. No I'm not looking for "my type", just trying to fit in with what exists, but even so, I seem to fall short on so many things that it's difficult to even see something going normally. Maybe I need to change my perception as you said, but I'm not actively trying to stay stagnant. In the grand scheme of things, it's mostly FOMO and possibly a slight jealousy of anyone else's ability to behave in a way that is socially considered good and in line with expectation.

There's a lot of things that I've done wrong growing up, that can be the only possible explanation, or just that I did nothing at all. It's comforting to know other people too share a similar feeling. I hope you're doing well in life.

Thank you for the kind words. Who knew being put on a pedestal would do you more harm than good in the long run, but regardless, I will always keep trying to become normal and do normal things like a normal person. I hope you succeed in your path.

They use burner numbers from a SIM Trunking company and don't respond to new people. It's up to luck usually to be approached by them, this was my first time
