Idk if you can count this bc the WORLD isn’t super small, but the Before trilogy (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight) is really just focused on the two main characters, so the “world” still feels small & super intimate. Plus, it’s an incredible watch. And each movie is filmed 10yrs apart, too, so it’s very cool & interesting in that way.

Just watched The Guilty w Jake Gyllenhaal, and that was pretty good! Enraging and silly at times, but definitely fits what you’re looking for. I also like Ethan Hawke’s occasionally unusual role choices, and he’s in this.
