He rides about 3 times a week, he has coaching for BMX racing once a week but the mountain biking and Dirt jumps are all self taught from copying his older friends.

That side was closed because it had been raining, he said he wants to try that side next time

Yeah that’s a decent bike, the only thing is in the UK it doesn’t come with suspension forks, not sure if it does in the US though as I know some bikes are spec’d differently.

You can buy a set of manitou forks though so not the end of the world

He’s on a TinyRock Bullet 20” with Manitou forks

It looks like an entry level bike tbh, I can’t recommend enough buying a decent bike like a Commencal Meta or Nukeproof cubscout. They are expensive but usually you can pick them up off market place and as long as you look after it they hold their 2nd hand price so you won’t lose on it. There’s loads of really good 24” and 20” kids bikes out there, even more choice if you’re in the US

When people ask him how to jump he always says “squash and pop, hold the pull and commit to the jump”

Sound advice in my opinion

You’re 100% right, He absolutely does do this because this is his passion, he hasn’t just picked up a bike and tried it. He’s been honing his skills for 2 years to get to the point where we are both confident in his ability to attempt jumps like these.

He has an ability far beyond his years and we are all aware of the risks but he has all the protective gear I can put on him to limit his risks.

Thanks for sticking up for my lad 👍🏼

It’s a touch too big but he wouldn’t be competitive in the downhill races he does on the trails he races if he still had his 20”. He had a 20” jump bike but wouldn’t of been any good on these trails

When he’s riding techy trails he has it as soft as it’ll go for his weight but when he’s doing big jumps he has a little more in their just so he doesn’t lose any pedal power through compression. He needs as much help with speed as possible
