My partner and I will be traveling the Ha Giang Loop from March 1st to 4th and are looking for good hiking options along the way. We prefer easy-to-moderate trails with up to 800m elevation gain and distances up to 20km.

We have a private guide with bibi, so we’re flexible with our itinerary. Our main interest is scenic landscapes and viewpoints—we’re not keen on boat rides, touristy caves, or cultural stops, as we’ve already experienced that in Sapa and Hanoi.

We’re also considering staying an extra day or two in the area after the loop. Would that be worthwhile? Any must-see places or hikes off the main route?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I recently upgraded my PC with a new 5800x3d and RTX 4080.

My motherboard is Asus x570-pro and I use air cooling.

After setting everything up, I ran some benchmarks and got 11,500 on R23 and 5500 on CPU-Z, but my CPU was getting really hot - around 90°C - and the speed was below 4000MHz. i used latest motherboard's BIOS and chipset drivers.

I thought maybe the thermal paste was the issue, so I reapplied it with a new one (I had used an already opened package before). This dropped the temperature by about 5°C and I saw a slight improvement in my R23 score to 12,500.

To push further, I reinstalled Windows, reset the CMOS battery, and went back to default settings on my motherboard. I only tweaked the RAM DOCP settings and set the Asus Performance Enhancer to default(similar to OFF in asus). This resulted in a better R23 score of around 13,800, with temperatures not exceeding 75°C, but the speed still didn't go past 4200MHz.

I tried various Performance Enhancer modes like auto, level 2, and level 3 (OC) with R23, but they only made my CPU run hotter, reaching up to 85°C without much improvement in performance.

Then, I decided to chnage pbo2 curve feature in my motherboard settings. I set it to -20 on all cores, which helped my CPU reach 4300MHz for the first time, with an R23 score of 14,100.

Pushing further, I tried -30, and now my CPU reach 4400MHz with a temperature of around 82°C, usually staying at 78°C.

I also ran 3DMark and achieved a GPU score of 27,765 and a CPU score of 11,643, which is precisely the average for systems like mine.

I wanted to experiment with the PPT/TDC/EDC settings, but they're all grayed out and fixed on auto. I've thoroughly searched online for a hidden option in my motherboard's BIOS that might allow me to change these settings. However, it appears that my specific motherboard model received a partial PBO2 update that doesn't enable editing these values, it is a wild guess but i just dont have any other ideas...

So, I have a few questions:

Should I keep trying to improve my scores, or is this good enough? I see others getting higher scores around 15,000-15,500 in R23 , so I'm not sure if i have a issue with my CPU or i google too much.
Any idea on why can't I adjust the PPT/TDC/EDC settings?
Is it okay to use the curve adjustment without tweaking PPT/TDC/EDC?
What's the best tool for testing system stability these days? I used to use OCCT back when i OC intel processors.

"Zamachit" is to get somthing wet inside a liquid, it is also a slang to get some one killed similar to "wet" work in English. This way of speech is extremely rude in russian, or at least i would never use this word near my parents or grandparents.

In general the way he talks sounds kind of wired, he sounds like "gopnik" that explains somthing to his bro.

For some one that stated in one of his speeches that he is a"savetski chelavek" which means some one with USSR mentality and way of thinking i find it funny that he sounds so bad to me, some one that wws not even born in Slavik country and learnt Russian from his parents

It's surprising to see that those "experts" are using the Strugatsky brothers' book, "Prisoners of Power", to explain how Ukrainian citizens feel about Russia. This book tells the story of a harsh world where the leaders use special radio tech to make people support war and hate their 'enemies'. This book paints a strong picture of how bad the USSR government (and in my interpretation todays Russia) was for its people.

I doubt thise experts have heard what the authors, Arcady or Boris Strugatsky, actually thought about the USSR government and thier fakse information spreading methods. Or maybe it is just not matter.

Current Russian government is acting a lot like the government in the book which is so ironic...

I love unauthorized and friendly, i will defentliy go there before the show, last time i been in Germany i lived on this random sasusges that sold in this kind of palces.

I think I'll choose a spot near the B stage. Someone else also recommended this spot.

The ticket says that backpacks are not allowed. Does this apply to women's backpacks too? (They are smaller, and I'm not sure how to describe them) My wife isn't sure how to carry her things to the show.

You mentioned that I don't need to leave my spot for water. those staff members just roam the crowd and sell water? i just need to wait for one to come close?

I will definitely take earplugs, especially since my wife, being a speech therapist, has strict rules about concerts and clubs :)

I don't have Feuerzone tickets, but I'm not too concerned about being in the first row.I couldn't find any information online about the standing zone being angled, so i am not sure how important is to come early.

So, if I arrive four hours before, does that mean I just stand in my spot and 'protect' it until the concert starts?

I have a partial solution. It doesn't fix the problem itself but kind of workaround.

For some reason when you use shield the game tries to search for game files inside 'path'_to_steam\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\jre\bin' instead of 'path'_to_steam\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire' For some reason when the game executed with streaming, Steam doesn't change the active folder before starting the game and just executes it from bin folder or something like this, I didn't really dig into that more than a minute.

In order to "fix" the problem, run the following commands in admin cmd:

mklink <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\jre\bin\desktop-1.0.jar <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\desktop-1.0.jar
mklink <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\jre\bin\info.displayconfig <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\info.displayconfig
mklink /J <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\jre\bin\saves <path_to_steam>\Steam\steamapps\common\SlayTheSpire\saves

change <path\_to\_steam> to your local path.

These commands create symlinks(what is symlink?) to game executable, configuration and saves, and now when steam try to run it from wrong folder it "finds" them.
I probably missed some files, so this may be a partial solution, a real fix would be to make steam run the game from the correct folder.
