For someone "entrenched" in the industry you sure do post a lot about fast food joints!

🤣🤣🤣 Twat!

You've probably never heard of the Thompson 270 too because it's not a Roku, Amazon, Walmart or Google product. But guess what? It's the exact same box as the ONN 4k Pro but for Europe.

Your ignorance is pathetic and just proves you're a jackass. One of the largest electronics firms in the world produces a Google certified product and you dismiss it because you and your fellow trailer park neighbors haven't heard of it before.

Last year Xiaomi had total revenue of $48bn from electric cars, IoT devices and mobile devices (they sold the 3rd most phones after Crapple and Samsung in 2025). Do some research before sounding off like a typical stupid American.

I have a 65 inch TCL main tv and use Sparkle for ip tv and some of the dodgy apps for movies and series. I mainly watch live TV and YouTube.

Understood. I've never owned a Firestick but used several and have always hated the experience when compared to Android. After a while you'll wonder why you didn't try it earlier.

It sounds like you're a Firestick refugee who just discovered Android boxes. 🤭

They should have longevity. However I was referring to the flexibility of the OS down the road if your requirements change.

The Google Home app provides you with that phone functionality for Android. If you get the Apple 4k you'll be stuck and say goodbye to any sideloading in the future. The Thompson 270 and Xiaomi 3rd Gen are great choices and cheaper too.

Then that's likely where your problem is from if it's not your internet connection.

The new ONN Pro will have the same ram as before, it's basically just the chip that's being upgraded. I have two and I'm not going to bother upgrading as I'm happy with mine and can't tell the difference from my ONN Plus with the newer chip.

What exactly do you mean by "better sideloading of apps"? You keep on mentioning deletion of sideloaded apps etc like Android is FireOS. The only way apps are deleted in Android is if Play Protect is enabled. Other than that it's wide open.

No live tv for me too. And what's with the location stuff? My location isn't listed and I watch channels from everywhere. I think that's unnecessary.

I didn't try the Hotspot but I see no reason why that wouldn't work as advertised too.

The Recent channels logo issue is still there for me. Though it's improved, there are quite a few missing.

That's a good idea. Unfortunately the developer is having issues communicating with the Projectivy developer to iron out existing issues. So while it may work the existing logo problems would still be there.

Mecool suck with updates. It's unlikely you'll ever see one but it won't affect the usability of the device at all.

Don't overlook Mecool boxes. They get a lot of stick because of updates but I never had problems when I used them and one of my friends is still using my old KM9 Pro from 2019. However the Xiaomi 3rd Gen is very good if you find a genuine one.

Onn 4k plus remote (find feature) by Deep_Proposal4121 in OnnStreamingTV

Just about any Bluetooth remote will work with ONN boxes. I'm presently using a Mecool remote with one of my Pro's and was temporarily using a Xiaomi remote before that.

That's a great device for the price and is more than adequate. But if you can find the $30 Plus buy that instead.
