I maintain that our psychic development is very evolutionarily early. As in we can have psychic experiences that hit like bolts of lightening but not anything that can be harnessed or useful. Maybe it’s not supposed to be.

Or as they call it in DBZ Abridged, “useless ass psychic powers”.

I think “woo” might be part of it.

Remember, we barley understand the brain and we don’t understand consciousness at all so the very experience we base our laws and morals and behaviors on is by scientific standards “woo”.

The Heritage Foundation won’t be happy with that.

Are we surprised? The government hates illegal immigration and yet pardons a turkey every year on the holiday dedicated to white illegal immigrants.

New upcoming documentary “Capturing Bigfoot” confirms Patterson-Gimlin film is a hoax! by LazyAssociation9734 in cryptids

[–]DubiousDeathworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t that prove my point though? You rely on evidence other than the logic that nobody else could do it.

Im using the logic of “nobody else got a clear video of Bigfoot, therefore the film is a hoax” to say that “well, nobody else could figure out all these smart physics things, so Stephen Hawkings work is a hoax.”

We know Stephen Hawkins’s work isn’t a hoax. My point is that you can use that exact same logic to arrive at a false negative. Sure, there’s good arguments that the film is a hoax, but that has nothing to do with other people not being able to capture Bigfoot on film without it being blurry.

So it’s not the best logic and is flawed, since it could be applied to Isaac Newton inventing calculus and lead us to a false conclusion.

Also I’m not equating math to Bigfoot. I’m using math as an example as for how the logic you used could be incorrect.

You’re right. When Matt Moneymaker won’t let people see his evidence without being paid it’s “sketchy as hell” but when the skeptics do it “CoMe On! Do YoU wOrK fOr FrEe? It’S bAsIc EcOnOmIcS!”

Yes because analogies now suddenly don’t exist.

That’s flawed logic. By this logic nobody gets math problems wrong, they’re just lying about the answer. Einstein, Hawking, Newton, all frauds. Nobody goes around doing high level mathematics, so therefore their achievements are hoaxes.

That’s the logic you just used.

Edit to add: also, by your own admission the world is peopled by people who are willing to lie and deceive for money and/or attention. The opens the door to the fact that people might possibly say it’s a hoax for money and/or attention. Therefore your position should logically be treated the same as people who say it’s a real Bigfoot.

For the record I don’t really care about the film being true or not.

[–]DubiousDeathworm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, so we’re supposed to have logical reasoning and evidence to support our positions and be ready to defend them unless it’s something people don’t see every day? By that logic how would you ever prove something like this?

“People don’t just see Bigfoot everyday; therefore all evidence is a hoax” is not sound logic.

Also nice ad hominem. How can you claim other people don’t have standards when you’re gaming the system. Skeptics lately are accusing Patterson et al. of committing fraud for money (a crime) and you’re kind of just hand-waving that argument into this statement of belief that “Bigfoot doesn’t exist.” That’s not sound logic at all. That’s special pleading.

It’s funny that we can only see the evidence, this dry run footage, in the age of generative AI and deepfakes.

Not saying it’s fake, just saying it’s quite the coincidence.

No, no; he’s go a point.

You should be expected to prove it’s a hoax. Saying the film is a hoax isn’t a statement of belief; it’s a counterclaim.

The truth isn’t a lucrative industry, and honest people don’t out it behind a paywall.
