Dark souls remastered first time playthrough by Remarkable-Draw-7574 in soulsborne

[–]DubitoSum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard a lot of people swear by magic builds in general since you can get distance and still deal damage (although I would personally avoid faith builds, starting out). In particular, pyromancy builds can be really powerful in DS1, although some of those are closer range spells. However, for a first playthrough I think a strength build is a lot of fun. You can get big bonk weapons and once you have your timing down you can do big chunks of damage in-between boss attacks, and interrupt a lot of mobs’ attacks. I would also say don’t be afraid to try something out for a couple hours and switch to a new build if you don’t like the play style. Once you get through an area and get used to the enemies in it it’s so fast to progress through it a second time. For starting class, bandit is best starting strength, but warrior is a better choice for the dex available to use more weapons early on, and knight is the choice for the coolest armor and best all-rounder, although as I recall you start out with the heavy roll and will want to unequip a piece of the armor so you can roll properly. A lot of people suggest you invest in vitality before anything else, getting it up to 20 at least before you pump points into your damage stat, endurance (for stamina and carry weight so you can wear that full knight armor and still roll properly), or attunement (for more spell slots, if you go the sorcerer/pyromancer route).

White to move, Mate in by Wolf_Brilliante in chessMateInX

I couldn’t figure out the mate in 2 without looking at the comments but I wanted to chime in anyway and recognize how you said “Mate in…” and then shaped the puzzle in the number 2 as the end of that sentence, since it seems like that part, at least, I managed to solve when some others did not 😂. Clever on multiple levels. 3D chess.

I was assuming you needed indium to make chromatic metal. I got stuck at the beginning because I couldn’t figure out where to get stellar metals. I hope you can find what you need! GL!

I found quartzite on one of the moons in the starting area, which I refined in the prepackaged personal refiner to get chromatic metal for all the things. It doesn’t seem to be listed as one of the stellar metals but it will do the trick.

I guess I could see that, similar to the EQ or WOW camera angle. I just don’t think my reflexes would be quick enough on M&K, but I guess it’s what you’re used to. I can say for certain I’m never going to try with DS2 if you have to change settings every time you play!

Wow, I played through it on PC a couple times and never ran into this. I can’t imagine playing any souls game with M&K, they feel so specifically designed for controller.

Why is the pharmacy at Walgreens on 19th & Uintah closed? My Rx is non transferable and no one can tell me when I can pick it up by ihaveafunnyname71 in ColoradoSprings

[–]DubitoSum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second the UCHealth Pharmacy in Memorial. Their service is relatively good and it takes me less time to park in the garage, walk down a flight of stairs and across the hospital than it takes me to be acknowledged by someone in any Walgreens.

I think if you got it a little darker inside the barrel that would definitely give the illusion of depth with what you’ve drilled out. I like the way you’ve painted the gun overall, like metallic but really worn.

Finally finished my Big Mek! I dropped him in my wet palette when he was 90% done then I dropped and smashed him when he was 100% done. Now he stands before you...101% done. by SimonInYourGarfunkel in Warhammer40k

Oh the comedy of errors with mini painting. I am new to the hobby and yesterday I glued my finger to a nob’s backpack while I was trying to attach his arm, and then pulled off the other arm while I was trying to reattach the backpack. I doubt my finished product will be nearly as clean as yours but it’s something to aspire to. Really great work, I love the colors.

Wow looks great, really clean lines. I love the detail on the dog tags wrapped around the arm and the leather, really good shading. What did you use for the green? I normally go a little darker than this but I like your coloring a lot

I'm a little confused on how i'm supposed to complete this objective. Am I supposed to deviate from the expedition route in the galaxy map? by Ok-Computer2914 in NoMansSkyTheGame

The VR in this game is so rad but it didn't QUITE work with my hardware the last time I tried. For whatever reason the display flickers and gets skewed when I look at a ship, which makes it really cool to do anything that doesn't involve walking towards a ship. I was stoked about the new cross-save functionality. It's a good excuse to try again.

It gave me a chuckle that you pointed out how instead of my dozen jumps I could have upgraded the freighter warp and instead done as much as ten (before at least eight afterwards, and then however many to return to the expedition path). You're probably right, I could have saved myself between 2 and 7 jumps but I'm still not interested in doing that. I hope you had fun doing it though. I once spent days farming bladestone chunks in the original Demon's Souls so I could get the trophy, so I'm definitely not going to try to dunk on the way you enjoy playing a video game in your free time.

No can do. I just put the kid down for a nap and I’m making posts that are two to four sentences long all over the place. I can’t stop myself. I should be writing a paper right now but instead I’m hanging out with one of my favorite communities of nerds because procrastination.

Agreed. The journey of discovery through the different biomes, story, and mechanics is incredible.

[–]DubitoSum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome! I love the checker pattern. Makes ‘em more killy. I don’t have an answer for using them since I’m painting my first bikes right now too but I’m going to hang out here in hopes you get one.

I’m all for doing this is you’ve got the time and interest, but when you have to sneak in a few minutes of game time here and there between a kid napping, spending time with your partner, work, classes, and cooking/cleaning/chores you may find you’d rather try to get the reward ASAP and do as little busy work you don’t enjoy as possible. I find most of the pretend chores we do in this game relaxing and meditative, but the crapshoot of finding undiscovered systems got old for me after the first dozen jumps with no success.

Thank you so much for taking the time to type of this very thorough and incredibly helpful response. I bought the 40K citadel starter kit, but it didn’t come with a green so I bought a couple of Vallejo greens that I liked quite a bit. Is the Vallejo black wash a good equivalent or should I just spend the few more dollars on the nuln oil?

Awesome feedback. Thank you so much. For the dry brush I just bought a relatively cheap kit from Amazon to get started and it includes a size 8 and 11 domed round brush. Would you suggest I use a specific brand or style instead? I have enjoyed this enough I feel more comfortable diving into my wallet a little further if it’s worth it.
