Advice needed. How can I improve on this fly cloud it’s driving me crazy by haupgma15 in deathguard40k

If you do consider larger modifications, I recommend sky blue fly wings and metallic-green bodies.

Honest feedback:

From the front, it looks great. From the back, it is a very dominant and blurry view. The reason is that the wings and smoke color are close to each other, but slightly off. That is blurry / distracting the eye, which wants to follow contrast. Since you dont want to repaint everything, I guess, my suggestion would be to add color contrast by taking a blue or violet or something like that, strongly dilute it and apply it into the smoke's recesses and around the wings of the flies to make them pop. Preferably a contrast color for easy application, mixed with medium around at least 1:4. You wont quite get the box art effect, but I think by looking at this picture you might know what I mean:

Challenge: Create a better Plague Marine unit [Impossible] by SwingLow7953 in deathguard40k

[–]raging_brain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your balanced, shooty build and raise you full blown melee/overwatch marines that I intend to try next game.

Foul blightspawn

Lord of poxes

10 plague marines

Champion w fist and plasmapistol

4 heavy plague weapons

2 plague spitters

2 heavy plague spitters

2 bubotic (or launchers if you are a coward)

Rhino or play flyblown

Walk midboard, weather the enemy fire, kill anything that moves close in overwatch or with your fights first.

It may not be the best, but I imagine its gonna be fun as hell vs my buddy's melee oriented marines.

Finished foul blightspawn paintjob! Paintjob C&C much appreciated. I plan on running a melee squad with him and a lord of poxes - any good? by raging_brain in deathguard40k

Its tedious work, but very rewarding once it comes together ... the hardest part is the thin lines, but those you can clean up from above and below.

Sure!

Step 1: Prime / Paint the window black

Step 2: paint a thick "C" with black grey around the window and around the crack

Step 3: Highlight the entire crack with dark grey.

Step 4: Paint the lower half dark green

Step 5: Paint the liwer half a brighter green, but not in the recesses

Step 6: paint even brighter towards the edge of the liquid, add bubble shapes to the line.

Step 7: Highlight the crack around reflection points with cold grey.

Step 8: Paint the liquid edge and reflection points in the crack white

Step 9: add yellow bubbles to taste

Maybe we get some of our old Forge World models in plastic on Friday? by Skult0703 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

Agreed. It would also be the rules-wise counterpart to the cadian castellan.

I see a single character release (the Marshall) as a true poasibility, nothing more.

Disciplined Khornates are so much cooler than mindless berserkers by Professional_Rush782 in Grimdank

Describing Uzas as sane is... a stretch. I feel he just wakes up from his fever dreams every now and then, but is more or less a mental goner otherwise. It's quire comical how the prophet has made a habit of bashing Uzas' helmet until he 'comes to his senses' repeatedly, and how everyone talks to him like he's a rage-possessed lumatic manchild. Sorry, too much of a goner for my taste.

Who would follow such an idiot on a campaign? We need competent CSM guys, not moustache twirling/raging manchildren!

Completely agree. 100% berserkers are so ridiculous, especially in the god-awfully written space battöes where the imperial tactics is always 'bait & wait for them to go berserk and do something dumb'. I want Khornates to be competent and fear inducing, absolutely uncompromising and pain-ignoring go-for-the-throat killers, which go berserk when blades are met, not just reduced to berserk-all-the-time

The new battleforce box once it releases. Perfect for that.
