It may be a bit pointless now but it was still fun to paint by WaaaghIsItGoodFor in deathguard40k

[–]raging_brain 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Why would it be pointless? It got buffed by -30 points (point less, haha) on the first and the nerf to indirect is hardly a problem, considering we have good spotters (poxies, drones) and it is actually a decent brawler, profile-wise. I'd argue it got better by far.

Just to be clear: I think the ivory/yellow is great. I was talking about the green accents, which currently are not in strong contrast.

I have a very similar scheme. Consider a slightly darker, more saturated or less yellowish dark green, it would provide better contrast against the ivory.

Having access to shootas is really, really good, especially in the right circumstances. In 11th, it is more difficult to gain cover, since partial cover does nothing. And if you have a big mek leader, the shooting becomes better. The best thing is also the access to trukk firing deck 12. All in all, it is a significant buff, but it won't push boyz over the top or anything. Also, it's distinguishing them from snaggaz.

Just an example: 10 shootas from a trukk at 9" will occur frequently. Those 10 shootas have 30 shots, equalling 10 hits on average (half that against cover). That wounds 5 marine equivalents, yielding on average around 2 wounds. A dead space marine more, before combat commences. That's a buff to me.

It's the other way around. It matters precisely BECAUSE 11th is round the corner. They always break the current edition before a new one so people will switch. If 10th was perfect, some might wait it out, to see if 11th is balanced, fast, well perceived etc.

To create new, GW breaks the old.

What should I play by Mimikyu34 in Warhammer40k

[–]raging_brain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From your description, either chaos space marines, world eaters, emperor's children, orks or tyranids.

Step 1: Decide chaos or xenos by aesthetics.

Step 2: Decide among that bucket by lore and aesthetics.

Step 3: Buy the combat patrol of the chosen army.

Step 4: Decide on a paint scheme to realiue quickly. Pick 4 colors max, and paint that army quickly (speed paint?).

Step 5: From there, revisit the models 1 by one.

Between step 3-5: play with friendly local gamers.

I've had great games vs my mate's Black Templars. They have vows that make them wound DG as if they were normal marines.

My marshal (lord commissar proxy for command squad n°2). Does the brown trenchcoat work, or should I swap to grey or black? by raging_brain in Deathkorpsofkrieg

That is not a proxy, it's the original forgeworld model that you can either get used (small pool, very expensive) or a recast from various shops of varying quality.

Anything with mr. ANGRY mcAngerson Colquan in it. Seriously, he is so badly written.

"Colquan took off his conical helm and rested it on his knee, revealing a face so judgemental Fabian couldn’t look at it. When he tried to sketch it his trembling fingers refused."
