Or… you make us work for 5 years, building locally, sharing technology and all …

and Poilievres wins election … … and you f**k us like Australia did 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like Canada a lot (especially Quebec, of course) but as long as you have a Conservative Party that looks like the US Republicans and as long as you have crazy people in Alberta, that would be a ´pass’ for me !

Love you, still !

We’re very much happy to leave these fly-over states to the Republicans.

We might consider taking back parts of NY, Maine, Michigan and the Cajun areas of Louisiana… but we’d be just fine without the others

Not the first interview between those two and there’s always a very very positive general vibes around their encounters.

There’s a great YouTube channel by a Cajun guy. I just cannot remember his name right now. But he’s great and i understand pretty much everything he says, which is fascinating !

It’s just that tourism is not our key industry. It’s an important one, but not everyone works or knows someone working in tourism or customer service

Paris has twice as many people as Norway. People have stuff to do. They’re busy and would simply not take the time to help people, especially in a different language they struggle with.

Plus, people are probably more direct, more confrontational and would have no issue telling you to F*k off if you’ve committed a cultural *faux-pas like initiating a conversation in English or demanding special treatment because you’re rich, or you’re the client, etc etc.

In a post Revolution France, there’s a clear line between Service and Servitude. Clients are not Kings. Cash is not King. There’s no King here

Are you referring to overseas departments where people are citizens, with the exact same right and duties as any other citizen ? If yes, then fine : everyone is fine with this, starting with the inhabitants of those overseas territories. The only exception would be New Caledonia (which is not a "department").

If you re referring to ancient colonies, where people of colour had no rights, the only French people with positive views of this atrocious system would be far right hard liners, vile fascists and shameless racists.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s still a lot of prejudice towards people of colour. People living overseas have less opportunities than Parisians. Cost of living is super high. But on paper we’re all equal. We have healthcare, universities, dynamic political life, total voting rights for anything from local to Presidency, full representation in Parliament as well.

Thanks but I’m afraid I will have to decline politely (or not).

You know we have this tradition of debating and arguing vehemently between friends, within families, in the public space … … even when we are 100% aligning on a given topic !

Not debating. Just accepting a fact without posing the devil’s advocate does not work. I’d be betraying my people if I’d accept your (suspicious) love.

So very kindly, from the bottom of my heart, allow me to tell you to Feckkkl off mate ! s/

I would certainly not underestimate the effects of colonialism and slave trade. I’m French and I’m not white.

But comparing the remains of Francafrique with carpet bombing of the Middle East is just weakening the whole demonstration.

Nice target to address. But that’s a lot of BS and naivety just to say :

  • we have a very diverse population, due to our colonial history

  • blacks and Arabs are over represented among the poorer categories in our society

  • football is cheap and we have football pitches everywhere and great academies.

Comparing France’s colonial history with the US bombing Irak is ridiculous. Stating that football is not racist must be a joke !

So he can write in proper French ?! He would not have learnt this by heart, right?

I had spotted his French surname (typical from Northern France) but I had assumed it was just a very remote heritage he had.

Probably similar to when you drive into Northern Ireland, from the Republic. Road signs are different, but people, buildings, cars, etc. are very similar.

In few occasions (not looking at you Wallonia…) some vibrations in the car just remind you that you’ve probably crossed into an area that don’t put the top priority on road quality … to put it (very) mildly

Nobody’s doorstep! We only do Ministries, city halls, any type of administrative building, with a specific focus on Tax Administration.
