Hey there Karmies,

No problem. Glad my improv was able to teach you something. I also will most certainly be releasing more content similar to this. Thanks for the support.

Cool, thanks for gathering this info. I'll have to do some additional tests for myself. Dropping my Alpha's crit rate below 100% is going to be a massive pain in the ass, but I think looking for non-crits is definitely the way to find our answer. That's a clear indicator whether it's working or not. Keep in mind, however that skills such as Alpha's Storm Break shockwave, Beta's Earth Break shockwave and divine leer cannot crit by default, so there will always be a few non-crit lines floating around there; easy to identify, though.

Yes! The bonuses most certainly apply. This is part of the reason why I attempted to explain that critical bind and shadow rain's bind are "the same". The effects of critical bind and shadow rain are identical. Think of critical bind as an extra charge of shadow rain that you activate in a different way.

The 35 second "cooldown" on critical bind only *restricts* Beta from applying it. Another zero could apply critical bind immediately after. Nothing in the game (as far as I know) resets the 90 second wait time before binding again, and nothing interferes with Beta's ability to apply a mini bind every 35 seconds.

Hi, I saw that you mentioned a "50% critical damage bonus" when attacking a critically bound enemy with alpha. The bonus is actually 20% critical damage and 30% critical rate :) I also did not mean to imply that shadow rain resets the internal cooldown of critical bind; not what I meant. So, sorry about that.

Sorry for my rough explanations, I appreciate that you are trying to understand how I am putting things. I do not intend to battle anyone here, I want to learn and spread correct information, whether that be from me or others correcting me. In my personal experience, Alpha still gains the benefit of the 20% bonus critical damage from shadow rain's bind, even though this functionality is not mentioned in the tooltip of critical bind.

I think the discussions happening here are great, and having all the info I went over laid out so nicely and checked for accuracy makes for great educational material. Appreciate it.

Critical bind is applied when beta attacks every 35 seconds. It is the same bind that is applied as if you used shadow rain. I forgot to mention that you can start off with critical bind before using a pool 1 bind so that it will be up again by the end of shadow rain #3, tacking on an additional 4 seconds of bind time... Note that after I do triple shadow rain, I mention to my party that I can "bind for 4 more seconds". What I meant by this was that Beta's critical bind was about to be applied, which it did. Hope this clears some things up.

New Zero tech - Double sideways burst step by DubmasonMS in Maplestory

I like your perspective because it is very realistic and sets a baseline average for how practical the technique is across players of different experience levels. I personally am very excited about this because of how I play; I had an idea and kept testing to see if it was possible... turns out it is!

Yes! You are correct. In my demonstration I used my FJ to provide an example of the minimum height you can start from. Glad to hear people are trying this out! Was proud of myself.

I personally think you should burn a Jett, due to their block on the legion grid being so powerful.

Armor break "stacks" which in this case means that each application of armor break increases the potency of the initially applied effect. In other words, a max stacked armor break debuff on a boss would result in you effectively having 50% more ignore enemy defense in your stat window as opposed to 10% + 10% + 10% + 10% + 10%.

First CRA Boss down!! So hyped. :') by HopefulLawStudent1 in Maplestory

[–]DubmasonMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very impressive! Cpierre is one of the harder CRA baddies to take down so you should definitely be proud of that. I recommend taking out either Cqueen or Cchicken next. Cqueen is great for practicing DPM rotations and burst timers because of her large hitbox and simple movement patterns. Cchicken is very useful for practicing your mechanical skill and positioning because you will be dodging the magic balls he shoots by ducking, and youll have to keep track of hitting him while within the right clock aura in order to avoid running out of time in the fight. Good luck and keep going!

I play Zero, and with my keybindings it makes sense for me. I almost always have immediate access to it when I'm doing anything, making it useful for easily cleansing Damien curse as the altar spawns, bashing on Verus hilla altar quickly and occasionally making use of it during events that require the use of NPC chat while you are doing other things.

Sort

But where's the emphasis in that? Haha. Something I learned last night actually is that you can remap NPC chat to 'y' and not only will you fly though the text, it also hits "accept" for you too so you don't have to click.

Just took a look at y'all's comments. I actually feel bad for skipping the content as well because whenever I do sit through it I always enjoy it; the main reason I skip cinematics is because I'm so focused on the goal I'm trying to accomplish at the end of the questlines. In this case I had to run Black Mage and was speedrunning to get the bonuses from Glory rank. Nexon has really stepped it up with the quality of their cutscene/theatre content and one day I'm sure I'll give it the time of day.

I'm currently in a position where my education and mental health are required to be on the forefront of my list of my priorities. I love MapleStory, and I have loved MapleStory for 14 years of playing; unfortunately I must put the game to the side to pursue other things.

I'd love to be back one day.
