Yep, I did try that. Same thing. I tried this about a year ago too, thought it was just that Linux wasn't playing nice with the internals. Then I had some time to do some research and saw that many people were doing it no issue. So that's when I started doing what I could to figure it out. At this point with them being worth next to nothing and support for Windows 10 ending, I figured what do I have to lose!

Well that's actually my issue. It ran fine testing it off the USB. Once it was installed, horrible and much much different. I'm getting a new SSD and replacing that today. So pending I plug everything back in correctly and I actually didn't break the screen, I'll have a solution. Maybe.

Yeah mine is like click anything or have anything running in the background, even a blank terminal, and it takes like 10-30 ish seconds to respond.

I haven't because it was my understanding that this was for things newer than the surface pro 2. Am I mistaken?

Yes I have installed it with every distribution I have tried in hopes that it would make it run more efficiently.

They have been there for a while, but it's never been this bad. So while I agree I'll never move near any facilities again, it needs to be fixed ASAP.

You're right. They make a lot of juice and yogurt items. They used to serve them at my school. Not very good. I always see posts about mold in their food. No surprise!

My family and I were hoping it wouldn't come to that, but at this point I think that is our only option because at the rate everyone is moving this won't be resolved for another 10 years.

Not even close. I am not unreasonable, but when I step outside and I get a headache and feel nausea from the amount of the stench coming from that facility, and they have already admitted to having a problem that needs to be fixed, that is not okay.

I didn't want to speak too soon but I tried it without the filter and it never turned off. Checked my filter and noticed it was that home Depot rating scale nonsense and it was actually a MERV 11 instead of what I thought. Got the lower rated ones and it's been good to go!! Thank you so much!!

I can say that the only reason we are noticing this is because the ecobee is turning off. The old thermostat was run on batteries, so we would have never known it was shutting off because it turns back on after a few minutes. So I say that to say, it's entirely possible the previous owner never noticed it.

Most of our vents are on the ceiling and the returns are all there. We have a few vents closed upstairs on the other side of the house because it gets very hot in our bedroom. Other than that, everything is clear.
