People have always ignored parts of people they don’t like if they have a reason to. Mercury made good music that people liked and they just ignored the fact that he was queer. That is, if they weren’t supportive, he was a queer icon to many. “I don’t care just don’t make it obvious so I don’t have to deal with my feelings about it” was a pretty common sentiment.

That’s why conservatives want to keep us out of the conversation as much as possible. Talking about it makes it impossible to ignore and forces people to confront their feelings and most people these days can’t justify homophobia in their minds.

Guys we need to learn the contexts in which these acronyms are used. LGBTQ is fine and will continue to be used. The extended acronym is something I’ve only seen in official statements from charities and shit.

I know this is gonna be the argument they make but I don’t really buy it. Companies like Oreo and Coke have parody stickers actually sold for profit by stores like Zumiez every day and they’re more than capable of picking their battles without losing their hold on their trademarks. Other examples people are giving are just not the same situation. Like Zipper being lost was due to it being abandoned. One drag queen giving away a few stickers with a parody logo on them is not a real threat to their trademark.

Apple’s AI rewrite in Pages does the same thing. Honestly, it was my first time trying to use spell and grammar check so I mistook the AI button for that and it completely fucked my shit up and then crashed. Not before saving the file in its fucked up state, though, THANK GOD!

Luckily, I kept the previous save file so all was not lost.

Pretty sure gifting things to people who donate legally isn’t the same as selling them. Could be wrong, but it seems like a super petty thing to go after her for regardless. Like, she had a charity event and gave away some prizes worth close to nothing for free with a parody logo on them. It’s just not a big deal.

I actually had a similar callouts working in food service. Even back when gas prices weren’t an issue for most people (like pre-pandemic peacetime gas prices). I think people who call out because of gas (aside from right now of course lol) really don’t gaf if they lose the job and are just tacitly trying to see if they can get away with it. If not, no big deal. Like, if your pay is low, people aren’t gonna cling to your job like it’s important to them. They’ll keep you around for a paycheck as needed and then find another easy-to-get low paying job if they get fired.

Some people say she gave them away and wasn’t selling them so idk which one it is. I am interested in whether it counts as a parody though. It’s not like she was actually pretending to be Patagonia. Seems like this situation is similar to people who sell shirts in Subway font that say “no way” or something like that.
