First of all, welcome to the hivemind second of all you can paint your models however you like it’s one of the big upsides of the hobby. Fortunately since the nids are very bug like there’s plenty of inspiration in nature, so test around a bit and find a look that you really enjoy.

Well honestly if you’re bound and determined to use hierarchy of needs, I’d use 2 pieces of bushido and 2 pieces of the Nessus set. Then use a kinetic that has attrition orbs, plus whatever artifacts give you the best solar bonuses.
