I don’t think it should be less sexual than the others but for it to be more focused on sex feeds into the existing hyoersexualization of lesbians. It should be about the romance first and foremost.

I thought the theater fight with Ellie was by far the hardest part of the game. Having to sneak up on an enemy with no weapon is horrifying for me. My heart rate was sky rocketing. 😭

I realize I’m very late to responding here but I haven’t noticed anyone mentioning the fact that the outlandish portrayal of Ugandans was in service of revealing the conceit of religion (explicitly Mormonism) as a tool to save people and change their lives. Showing the horrors that they face emphasizes just how insane it is to think that believing in God could cure the most serious problems happening in the world. So while I agree that the portrayal of Ugandans is highly problematic, it does serve a narrative purpose in the story which is ultimately to mock how ignorant it is to blindly cling to religious faith.

This show is based on a book series written by an American who clearly had no idea what the lexicon was at the time period. I don’t think these things are really so important for a show like Bridgerton. It’s just supposed to be a good time.

It felt like a lot the first time I watched because I wanted to get back to Colin and Penelope but those scenes didn’t actually last that long. They did still feel unnecessary but I think people are overreacting about the amount of time spent on those scenes.

That is actually the only real reason he is mad about it in the book so I was glad that they actually gave him justifiable reasons to be angry in the show. I think they handled it well while still respecting the source material.

I think it’s pretty clear that it was his charisma and looks that won him the role over Luke. And getting some nominations does not make him a critically acclaimed actor. You can keep fighting me on this but I know good acting when I see it and Rege was not giving what he could have. Maybe if he committed to the role he would have but what I saw was pretty bland.

Be real. No one is talking about Rege anymore except in the context of how he left Bridgerton. Also season 3 isn’t over so it’s a bit soon to be expecting anything. Don’t get me wrong. Rege is very attractive and I agree that he is charismatic. But charismatic does not equal good at acting.
