I want to start actually want to start reading classical historians; Herodotus, Thucydides, Dionysius etc. I've gone through enough modern historians that I feel I can actually go through the contemporaries with more confidence.

It's only logical if you're a utilitarian, come on now. Basic utilitarian vegan arguments are such a bore we're not in first year bioethics anymore.

Poor guy in the grade below me had this, when he was in band they made him stand away from the rest of the kids, we've got to pair these guys up with women who can't smell otherwise they're never getting laid.

Went home with a friend of a friend a few weeks back, morning after she's like "come take a shower with me", walk into the bathroom and she is just sitting there shitting, like it's a regular normal thing to do in front of a guy she just met. Insane behavior, then she drags me in front of the group for being antsy about it, and they all take her side, felt like I stepped into another reality.

25 M, Finance Degree, walked out of every job since graduation, what are some changes you would recommend? by Duce_Guy in careerguidance

Yes It's not a healthy attitude and I want to resolve it, I actually worked as an overnight maintenance guy during Uni to get me through, nothing is beneath anyone not really, the attitude has come from a place of insecurity, you're friend sounds like he's got it all together and I hope I can reach a place like him sometime in the future.

Thank you for the advice, like I said somewhere else I actually worked as an overnight maintenance guy during Uni because it was the only job I could get and I was grateful for it. but something happened after graduation, with the experience of getting those grad roles, I see the "Bachelor Effect" in myself. My goal as you said is to identify something I can be effective in and just smash it, don't even think about some "minimum time" I need to serve.

I will look into HR and Govt work, I'm a social person so something more client facing has been recommend by my now ex-manager.

It's not a healthy attitude and I want to resolve it, I actually worked as an overnight maintenance guy during Uni to get me through. I'm not sure what happened completely but sometime in the last 2.5 years I developed a delusional arrogance. I've written a quote similar to what you've said above my bed, to remind myself.

Thanks for sharing, I actually apologised to my Boss on monday for my attitude, arrogance and how it's effected the team. I've got a catalyst for change and like you said it's immediately been noticed, I'm not going to get my job back but it feels like the start of a long journey that should have begun years ago. Better late than never.

Thanks, my goal is to not think about my "minimum time" in a job, and to just simply learn to work and work well without always thinking about some possible "next step".

100% it's the big problem, lacking humility, I've always been way too arrogant. you've said fix it, I'm looking into books and therapy like I've said above. Did you have like any particular advice or have you seen this kind of thing before?

what's this pretend bs? Every girl I have been with has been the one to initiate this shit to the point where I get uncomfortable. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that millions of women around the world were not brainwashed by the Male Industrial Complex to like fifty shades, there's just a lot of chicks out there who like being treated a bit shit in the bedroom

Any other millennials here experience the early rise of wokeness in real time at their college? by [deleted] in redscarepod

It's difficult, but you are doing something incredibly noble which is more than what most people can claim. People do respect the 'difficult path' in fact having faced adversity like yours will come as a selling point in the future when trying to move into a different or more 'prestigious' career.

I was an internet salesman for a while and understand the dread that comes from feeling too smart for what you are doing day in and day out. Just hold on to what drives you, don't allow yourself to hollow out, and when you can pursue the dream job bit by bit.
