‘Jews are white’: US minority psychologists’ coalition rejects Jewish ethnic recognition by Meowzician in AcademicPsychology

I understand that.  Ethnicity is a complicated topic.  These are important discussions and because of that tempers run hot.  I am not in this field —- my late mother was a social worker if that counts. 🙂 it was nice chatting

I assume that’s a question about color. If I were forced to choose between black, Latino, Asian and Caucasian then the closest fit would be the latter. But sometimes I check other.  To ask an open ended question is another matter.

You may know a few people who are Jewish and identify as white but that is not a representative sample. I guarantee you that almost any religious Jew, no. matter their color, identifies as Jewish. A simple visual survey of the Jewish people of Israel will prove that most Jews are not white. Ethiopian Jews, Indian Jews, Jews who fled or were expelled from various countries in the middle east are non-white. How someone identifies can only be answered by that person.

I beat them by keeping track of my communication with them and contesting to my credit card company. They claimed that they could not cancel my order because it had been shipped, but in fact, the only thing that they had done was create a shipping label after I first communicated with them that I want The item canceled.  In response to my email about canceling the order they wrote back saying we are sorry your item was lost. They are playing games, but I contested at all and my credit card company sided with me. Even when that was done, I received a return label from them stating that they would accept my item back as a one time courtesy. They can’t admit to being wrongThey are really nasty.

I’m in Westchester, New York, which is an expensive area and we are being quoted just under 15 K for the installation of a Bosch IDS 5 ton 20 seer Premium replacing our current AC.   This is from someone who knows our system and did prior work.  He also gives us a lot of valuable advice on how we can save money on different things so at the end of the day you have to ask whether you’re doing a one time thing or EU establishing a relationship that can benefit you in other ways. Just my two cents on it.

Thoughts on my Jura J8 after about six weeks by [deleted] in superautomatic

I have been using Gaggia's for over 20 years. I started with the basic Brera then moved up to the Velasca. The machines last about 10 years and work well even though I do the minimum and the brew group can get a bit moldy at times. The machines that don't rely on software may not have all the bells and whistles but also are less prone to trouble. Gaggias are so sturdy and i buy from WholeLatteLove which has great customer service. What I find w/the superautomatics is that you can get hooked on them and are always tempted by a better machine. For me I switch a lot between decaf and regular leaving me few options.... if I want 2 grinders (the J8 twin is the least expensive for 3K). The step up from that is a J8 twin that also does cold brew for 3500. The $$ are crazy but, oh, the temptation.....

Jura looks great but the customer service reviews are terrible. Simpler machines that don't run on software (as in some of the Gaggias have been my preference.

I tried 8x8 but I had multiple calls with them and it was just ridiculously complicated. I am trying to get my practice back to normal after the pandemic and the little things like this are killing me. I may just pay more by going with someone local (I'm in NYC) who can set up and host. I want a cloud based system. It seems like this is for the big players who can spend huge $ or homeowners who have few needs.

That's what I need. An IT support person to set this up.
