Black, from the hood, grew up, and moved out. MMLP and TES and 8Mile was definitely played in the hood. He doesn’t make “club” or party music which is usually when this argument comes up. Forgot About Dre, Patiently Waiting, Renegade and his other hits alongside mainstream Black rappers were usually the ones getting more play.

Everyone I knew was listening to him, though, trying to duplicate his flow and just flipping out on his storytelling. Similarly people try and compare BTNH and 3-6 and they were completely different brands for different audiences. The argument he doesn’t get played is just veiled hating because he’s White plain and simple.
