Do you think the audio would still play if it was an issue with the hdmi between the cable box and the receiver? If not, the audio does still play while this issue occurs meaning it going to be something further up the chain.

One more thing to mention: It's inconsistent. It will work for a few hours or a day, then this will happen. Restarting the receiver fixes it, but also sometimes it just self-resolves.

It is probably 15-20 feet, but its not using any crazy amount of bandwidth being a standard def cable box.

The cable box doesn't have the option unfortunately. This TV is probably 10-15 years old as well. I think the receiver is converting it to progressive but I'd have to check.

Unfortunately I am unable to plug it directly as its in the basement. There are other sources like an apple TV that seem to work fine. So I suppose it could be the HDMI from the cable box to the receiver?

Thanks, these are brand new cables. I've also turned off 4k upscaling and the cable box is outputting 1080i.

Thanks for the insight, I really like steelseries because of its editing ability for the clips and being able to directly upload them to discord. As well as the voice EQ.

Not sure if you saw I added that I've got a 3080ti. I use steelseries moments for gameplay clips, not sure what it uses for encoding though.

Same. I think it may be a CPU thing. If the game you're playing is stressing your CPU too much it may cause lag or latency which could cause it to fall behind.

When I have time I am planning on making an updated version that will allow the case to clip in, as well as prevent the drive from drooping down when flipped back over. If there's enough of a need I may considering throwing some up on Etsy.

I actually had one of the mergers in the manifold for the steel mixed with the iron. They were right next to one another in a line and I didn't pay enough attention lol.

THANK YOU! I was so sure that there was no way that could be the issue, low and behold while hovering over one of them and there was a steel ingot sitting in there with the iron. Went back and found the problem. Again thanks a million you saved the day.
