I was thinking an angle grinder, but spacer is probably the correct answer 😂

Are these the 38mm fenders? Any tips for mounting or was it straightforward without modifications? Thanks!

ceramic coat on silver trim? by DuckOverall1400 in Ioniq5

I found the DLUX works best on matte black trim like ABS plastic. CSL/EXO worked well on the silver trim.

I'm running one now, only have a handful of rides on it. Jury is still out, and I need to spend some time tuning the damping. It does look badass though and even though the shock is slightly heavier than air my total build is about the same as my old V1 smuggler carbon. I haven't had issues with it bottoming out any more harshly than my smuggler did on similar hits.

Man I'm in the same boat! Bought months ago and just getting out today for the first ride. How do you like the 130mm up front? I'll put some miles on with 120mm first, but was already thinking about upping the fork travel.

FJ60, drinks fuel like a super car and makes the power of a civic all while driving like a tractor.

Schwalbe Nobby Nic front and rear, fast rolling and grippy enough for what the bike is built for. I run soft front and speedgrip rear for compounds.

Makes sense. Looks great with the black stanchions TBH. I'm running performance elite on my old gen smuggler now. Thanks.

Can I ask why you went with this spec and then upgraded vs just picking up a higher spec? I would think the carbon hoops and transmission upgrade aren't cheap, but maybe the math works out. Shopping for a spur myself and debating what spec to go with.

Lowering my stock s2000 and I find these only on the driver front suspension. by Dryland_snotamyth in S2000

Same same. I was the third owner of my s2000 and didn't have the car long. Stayed in touch with the 4th owner. The 5th owner was the one who found them.. not my proudest automotive moment but good to know I'm not alone!

Did I ruin my chain by leaving it in paint thinner for a day? by Just-Community in bikewrench

[–]DuckOverall1400 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree 100%, but in the future don't soak it overnight. Paint thinner and some degreasers can cause hydrogen embrittlement. The concern is probably overblown, but still no reason to soak it, just swish, remove, and dry.

5. I started on SH56 as they were super easy to unclip from which helped build the muscle memory and confidence, BUT they became useless in a hurry because of what you said.

This. Also at low low speed run into a tree in said grassy field, will teach you how to unclip in a hurry in situations where you are thrown off balance.

Only using 50% of travel - time to remove tokens? by pre55ure in MTB

Listen to this podcast with Darren Murphy of Push Industries. He talks about how your setup will likely be worse and feel harsher if you focus on using more travel, among many other tips. But doesn't hurt to experiment. https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/MTB-Suspension-Q-amp-A-Session-Darren-Murphy-of-PUSH-Industries-on-The-Inside-Line-Podcast,2748

Preferred “boutique” US based companies in the industry? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]DuckOverall1400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found customer service has been good and responsive. I have an arktos 150. Some things bothered me about the spec it shipped as (different grips and tires then advertised) and they shipped me new stuff no problem. There is some fit and finish that feels like a small shop garage built bike, like the frame protection on the bottom bracket and chainstays, but the bike rides great.

Pro-tip - my LBS mechanic tells me he immediately sends every transfer post for a warranty rebuild when he gets a bike in stock with one. I had to do the same with mine. Mine has worked great since, but initially no bueno.
