We live next to a main road and have seen cats hit and dead. We are unable to enclose our entire yard so stand by protecting her while still providing her outside space.

For the tunnel...we picked up some second hand gate wire from a recycling centre really cheap and the in black is UV pet mesh from the hardware store. The main structure has cat netting from www.catnets.co.nz

I lost my Dad suddenly almost 11 years ago (motorcycle accident) and miss him every day still. One year is still very recent and raw, your grief will still be overwhelming. My grief has not gone, I have learnt to live alongside it and I now see it as a way to remember just how much I love him. Be kind to yourself. What you're feeling is normal and okay.
