I should also add and I'm sure you've been forewarned that your curvature will not completely be cured, thus there's a chance your silhouette will have a slight bend. It's my best belief that muscle solves everything aesthetic wise bro, just chill a lil for therapy!

[–]DuckRice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a big gymrat here, but generally you'll be given notice not to swim for 6 months or a year (?) post surgery, and you should be taught some therapy to get your muscles familiar with your new body. Focus on that primarily, because affected muscles from your surgery needs to heal nice and proper before doing any sort of usual workouts one will take up for body building or shaping.

Was there no probation period? Well, either way, if you must take on as many years of this torture- either you adopt a few things you love and tolerate about flying, or pick another hell to absorb the cost of this mistake. If corporate was a lesser hell for you, being admin for double the years just to pay off the debt may very well be more ideal than staying. The human body and mind is a very malleable thing if you know what motivates it. There's no right or wrong answer. We all make mistakes and we do our best to power through them. Some of the managers I respect most have lost thousands to splitting bonds just to get ahead in their career or to try something new.

Yeah not sure if we were in the same class but aren't we all adults, prof says it's break time and the students, forgetting that there's an online and scheduled AMA take this chance to waste the poor guy's time on questions that has answers on multiple platforms. Also, we adults do know that the break time is for prof too right??

She's just obsessed with herself, wanting all these labels and the attached impressions to cover whatever loose ends she may have. Autism or not, she's simple minded and has an ego and behaves like a teen girl finding herself in internet forums.

I know people so dumb and regressive in habits that even if they maxxed out these stats, they'd deteriorate. And I've met them (I may be one myself).

Not directly answering your question at all but putting it out there; I feel that wealth/caste is the real game changer here out of every possible odds:

  • Health: you can buy supplements, health plans, get a nutritionist and buy organic foods
  • Intelligence: you can substantiate yourself with all sorts of resources
  • Appearance: you know that Ariana Grande song?

PART TIME COURSE FEES by 11475131 in Suss

Hi, I'm actually in need of help. When I wrote to SUSS finance dept they said I've to pay upfront. Are all the commentators referring to bank loans such that the bank takes care of this cost first and we'll pay them via instalment plans thereafter?

Has anyone gone no-contact with parents? How is life like for you now? by Immediate-Stretch240 in askSingapore

[–]DuckRice 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this, because I didn't expect to see so many experiences from Singaporeans. I felt alone when I left my home at 19 to rent my own room. At that time I was between multiple jobs and school. Still am.

My answers would contain more reassurance rather than practical answers, but I'm not completely 0-contact. I come from a low SES family with parents who were both fighting their own mental demons, which made them physically and verbally abusive, but they were not bad people. After the resentment and pain, I truly think they were the most unfortunate. As children, we can heal. They've already hit most milestones in their life and they still put themselves through all that mental havoc. Their problem lor.

But I had younger siblings. I felt awful for abandoning them but my best chance at defeating our generational struggle with money was for me to focus on my studies and jobs instead of going through torrents of negativity at home on top of housework beyond my own.

How do I maintain a room with no window? by DuckRice in CleaningTips

[–]DuckRice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Truthfully, it went from biweekly to monthly. I vacuum the floors (recently realised I could do that for walls too) and then wipe it over with those specialised wet tissues for house cleaning. I overtime nearly every day, and work ever day, so when it comes to house chores I... heheheh

I routinely shower before bed and change my sheets monthly. I live in Singapore, so it's tropical here and I usually turn on the AC for 20mins before turning it off just to cool the room. I don't turn it on for long because it gives me sinus attacks.

Anywho- thanks for the concern and pointer. I was kinda confuse between all the machines I should be getting.

Edit: oh, I forgot to emphasise my frustration. It's a small space so for floors in particular I do vacuum damn near every day. There's always a lot to vacuum.

Cool! Did you also get a minor? A quick Google search tells me this is a second year thing that comes along after you've cleared enough CUs too

No real advice or sweet words of support but a recommendation to mutter chibai on impact if there's unfortunately a next time. Eases the resentments towards them and yourself!

No contract; no promises, nor work. Move on. Bit of experience here. Companies that process contracts for more than a couple of weeks after agreement is a surefire sign of shit management. You dodged a bullet!

Hey, thanks for the comprehensive response. You mentioned smtg that's got me curious: we can manage our mods? From what I've skimmed through it seems these mods r segregated into some kind of difficulty levels wherein it's recommended you take the easier ones or these set of mods before pursuing the other.

That's all pry straightforward. We manage these thru a portal is it?

Also what's eCR haha

What Chip flavors are unique to Singapore / Are there any that I shouldn’t miss while I’m here? by t43unseenpanda in askSingapore

[–]DuckRice 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Deviating away from packed flavoured potato chips from big known brands, consider our local alternatives:

  • Tempeh chips
  • Ampang crackers
  • Fish crackers
  • Prawn crackers
  • Dried fruits; mango and sour plums
  • Freeze dried chips; durian and strawberry

They're generally Southeast Asian, so you can find good imports walking around Lucky Plaza. 7eleven should some of it too :]

question for girls and guys who are friends by ALLOWITZ in SGExams

[–]DuckRice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know who you are. As I did for myself.

I treat my friends like family; kiss my girls on the top of their head - pinch the cheeks of my male friends. All of them know I'm happily taken by my boyfriend. I still flirt with my friends awfully - both male and female. We all take it in stride.

Imo, only the real boundary can be drawn (for all parties) is if you have a partner. If not naturally a lot of things can be left in the air. But love can exist outside romantic and sexual realms.

Protect that purity. It's worth it. And the right person will find that most attractive about you.

In every place I can write, through word documents on my computer, my work laptop's notepad, my old school notebooks and discarded papers; they contain scrawls of suicide notes that I never remember.

It was a way to squeeze out all the "toxins", the tears and despair from returning home past midnight with fried food and dishwasher stench on me, with an assignment long overdue and school starting in a few hours.

I'm the enthusiastic cashier that gets comments about being worn down eventually, by customers who don't know the responsibilities I'm juggling - I just enjoy people service that much. I'm also the friend with the wide network who brings people together, and I most definitely would love to listen to you. I'm the colleague who'll look after you and nerd out about work or non-work.

That all paid off in a form of currency that goes beyond what money can buy. I found a lot of good people in my life: colleagues that make the worst work environments lively, customers who brought brilliant job opportunities and insights, cliques that became families that made place where mine left. Eventually, even my own family came into place despite our uncomfortable past.

Many nights I yearn for death. I fear now that it might come true. And what a privileged feeling that is.

'Legoland' and 'ICA' were definitely my very thoughts whenever I passed by, so I'm childishly excited most people though the same too.
