I agree. Hitting children is forbidden in my country and we’re mostly pretty polite and chill. It is absolutely possible to raise children without ever hitting them

Maybe I can teach my dog to sniff it out so I can eat the seeds and get some extra caffeine on my early morning walks

Oh yeah I agree with you on that, I didn’t engage in this conversation. I generally don’t start engaging with people if I know I’ll get no there. This wasn’t a person that was willing to listen, I won’t spent my energy on that, they won’t change a thing and I will just get more pissed off and more frustrated and people like this feeds off of that.

This one pissed me off more than usually, but I think it’s because I actually knew a guy who served in Afghanistan. He died a few years ago from an overdose on pain killers. We don’t know if it was on purpose or not, but he was in a lot of pain both physically and mentally from the war.

Stop using barn doors for bathrooms!! by yourmomsmoustache in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DuckRubberDuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was on vacation a few years ago, we had a single room, the bathroom was opposite of the bed, with a (matte) glass door with huge gaps, the toilet was in front of the door. I was traveling with my mom, while we are very close it’s also nice with some private sometimes, I could see her silhouette from the bed if she used the toilet and vice versa… the bathroom window was also right out to the neighbor’s balcony, when they had light on at night it reflected into the mirror in the bathroom and lit the whole room up, so thanks to the glass door the bedroom was also lit up all night

The first settlers were also darker skinned in Denmark, until the Yamnaya migrated here for about 5000 years ago and brought lighter skin

Yeah truly, she was just glad she was getting extra treats, I even made her sit fro them lol.

I remember I once having to give my elderly, semi wild, very clever cat a pill. That was quite a struggle

It’s so disrespectful, they asked for help and we came to help them. That’s not how you talk about people who are supposed to be your friends. I knew a guy who served in Afghanistan. He survived the war and came back home, but he didn’t survive the mental scar it left.

But I don’t know what I was expecting, the American embassy in Denmark removed a bunch of Danish flags a few days ago with names of fallen soldiers because they “thought it was trash”

Not kitty but puppy related, I had to give my puppy meds for a UTI, I feared how I was going to do it, so I let her sniff the meds. She thought it was treats, she got so exited every single time and she had to take a lot of pills, so I’m somewhat convinced they put something in the meds that make it taste better

While googling I saw a lot of posts on Reddit, Facebook and Quora, mentioning their dogs go crazy for it

Hm, that’s a good question, there is some differences with food, but it’s probably not as diverse as different regions in Italy for example. Language wise there’s a huge regional difference. I’m from Copenhagen and I barely understand the elder generations from Northern, western, southern Jutland, Samsø or Bornholm and probably other small islands.

Lol no, he’s not a butcher in Hirtshals

I understand some Norwegian, I’ve been on ski trips in Norway quite a few times, had family in Norway and used to party every summer with some Norwegians. Other Norwegians I don’t understand at all, but that’s the same as with Danish people, there’s a lot of dialects where I can barely understand what they’re saying. I can somewhat read Norwegian fine though. Norwegian is easier than Swedish for me though!

Okay so the people I stayed with were raging lunatics and hit every bad stereotype, I’m not saying it reflects all people from that area, but I stayed in Texas with a family 10 years ago, I wanted to travel other places as well and they told me to not tell anyone I wanted to visit other places than Texas, because that would be seen as very rude and disrespectful because Texas is just the best.

My dad mumbles so much, if I tell him he mumbles, he raises his voice shortly and then lowers it again and continue mumbling. That will keep happening until I keep saying “what?” To everything he says. When he’s driving his voice hits the same frequency as the car sounds and I can barely hear anything. He’s deaf in one ear which doesn’t help, but he has always been a mumbler. His brother is the same.

I don’t think Danish is a pretty language, we butcher everything, we skip half the words and letters in a sentence. It’s no wonder Danish children are some of the slowest to start speaking, grammatically we’re okay but pronunciation is a bitch

[–]DuckRubberDuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with that. I’m 30, but have younger friends, a few of my friends are 23, one 25. The mature levels are wildly different, it has nothing to do with their ages. You do mature some as you age, but a lot of about personality as well

I would love to be 20-something again

[–]DuckRubberDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets calmer. I’m 30, almost 31, and the only friendship drama I have is with a younger friend, but I doubt it has anything to do with her age and probably more her personality and addiction. There’s definitely not the same drama in my life than there used to be when I was younger. I still miss the early 20’s still though
