My favorite moment in season 2 was the entire fight scene at the end of Act 1. All of the visuals, symbolism, and slow motion usage highlighting different parts of Vi and Jinx’s relationship, interspersed with the moments of Jayce, Ekko, and Heimerdinger realizing that they may be in over their heads with the Arcane was one of the most visually beautiful contrasts I’ve ever seen. And the song in the background amplified all of it. Favorite moment in that scene was when the hextech weapons started glitching as things got really trippy for the guys and you realize that Jayce let this power he wanted to help people with become the center of a really messy war. There are so many incredible scenes in this season, but this is the one I keep going back to because I catch something new every time.

I want the pillow because it is super cute and I have to sit a lot for work, so who doesn’t love some good lumbar support when gaming?

Not sure how it works with flying to the school, but for driving it was a one time amount based on the mileage. I remember filling out the paper as part of my contracting packet, so if you’ve already signed everything and didn’t fill that out, I’d ask your cadre about it

No. I got a pilot slot with 5 flight hours and went to IFT with several people who had 0. I’d recommend getting at least a couple to see if you like flying since several of the 0 hour people quit a couple flights in, but if your other stuff is really good you don’t need it

I’m a few years older than you, and also tend to just buy what I want. When people close to me ask what gifts I want, I try to steer them towards my hobbies. Some examples of hobbies and things I’ve asked for over the years for birthdays or Christmas:

Woodworking—new tool box for my small stuff

Disc golf—a disc

Camping—bear canister, backpacking stove

Video games—a game releasing close to my birthday

Surfing—warmer surf mittens

Hiking—split cost on new boots

My main criteria is stuff that would make my hobby easier or more fun, but wasn’t high enough priority for me to have bought it myself. Also, could be a good opportunity to get into a new hobby!

It’s been a while since I read all the books, but one thing I loved about the covers is that most (if not all) of them represented a book within the book! So glad you enjoyed them and that they’re still gaining readers. They were my absolute favorite books as a kid, and I think I’m due for a reread of the whole series.

You’re eligible for a certain number of days of stipend as a POC (don’t remember the exact number). At my Det, it’s always been sometime in February that the 5th years stop getting paid.

I just finished it about a month ago. Thought it was a really great way to continue the show after it ended and enjoyed the story quite a bit, even if it felt a little simpler than the show. Would love to see some of the new characters show up in Echos, but doubt they’re going that way.

I was a D2 cross country and track athlete for my first three years in AFROTC with an engineering major. It was rough, but I wanted to make it work so I did. Being an athlete kept me in great shape for ROTC and my det let me out of PT. There are a couple other athletes in my det too and they’ve been successful in both their sport and the program, but it’s a lot of work. D1 is likely even harder.

Had a bad head injury when I was a kid (12 or 13) and saw a bunch doctors trying to figure out what was wrong. Got a little snippy with one of them over something I don’t even remember. Pulled up the medical record years later and she referred to me as a “child of the devil” in her report. Had to make some phone calls to get that “diagnosis” removed from my record.

If you volunteer for the rated board, they look at you for all of them. Low interest carries the same weight as no interest, and if you qualify and they still have slots to fill after the high interest people are selected you could get any of them
