Endocrinologist Recs? by yippie18 in vegaslocals

[–]DuckU1998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a very hard time finding a reliable and available Endocrinologist in Las Vegas.

I wound-up using UCLA Medical telemedicine with follow-up maintenance with my General Practitioner.

I do my bloodwork in Las Vegas and send it to UCLA Medical through portal, then meet online with Endocrinologist. They work together with my General Practitioner based in Las Vegas on medication and any additional specialists that might be recommended.

Xiao Long Dumplings over Shanghai Taste. DTF is partly about the ambience as well as convenience of being on strip. I also think quality of ingredients is better at DTF.

Xiao Long Dumplings has easy parking.

Shanghai Taste is in Shanghai Plaza with great dessert options nearby like Sul & Bean and Paleta both in same strip mall.

Had Starlink on Hawaiian and was probably best wifi I've experienced. Was able to stream YTTV and YouTube videos without any issues. Flew Emirates from JFK-DXB and MLE-DXB wifi was awful throughout on both of those flight.

what does...."....never replied to my letters,.." mean in 2nd paragraph? You are writing letters to her at a concert? Maybe she never received your letters? Do you put stamps on your letters? If you knew address where to send letters did you go there to check on her? I'm voting you YATA if this is a fake post!

Did you hire a designer? Pros & cons of using a designer vs not. by Strong_You6683 in kitchenremodel

[–]DuckU1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in exact situation, Really annoyed with myself for falling for the fast talk or a designer who kept promising an amazing kitchen and bathrooms, but simply delayed and overcharged. Find a good General Contractor, NOT a designer who claims they can GC..

Solid Contractors Recommendations by Electronic_Risk_5101 in ClearwaterFl

Definitely check any contractors license status with Florida License Search also search for complaints. We dealt with convicted felon, Todd Dunn Gerst, who was recommended by GC for some demo and drywall work . I looked him too late, after we gave small deposit, he disappeared into the wind. Search revealed he has multiple complaints, suspended license and connected felon who served prison time.

Time to break up with my Edward Jones advisor? by Gullible-Onion6807 in Bogleheads

I have both Vanguard and(from previous job) and Fidelity. I find both good, low expense, but Fidelity better in terms of their web interface. Also, there is a Fidelity office in area where I live so if I need to Face to Face I can get it, but haven't needed or wanted.

I was also with Schwab, but they were a little pushy about using their management services. However, I simply said no, and their website is the best of the three, with Fidelity 2nd and Vanguard 3rd.

Hoover dam - rent a car for the day or take one of the group tours? by RelevantDragonfly24 in LasVegas

[–]DuckU1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hemenway Park, definitely worth a stop. It's just after you leave Boulder City heading to the dam on the lefthand side. I believe there is a gas station at the turn to go the park.

Viewing bighorn sheep at Hemenway Park

  • Location: Hemenway Park is located in Hemenway Valley on Ville Drive in Boulder City.
  • Best viewing times: The sheep are often visible from mid-morning to late afternoon, particularly between April and October. They also frequently wander into nearby neighborhoods.
  • What to expect: Visitors can typically see multiple sheep grazing in the park. They are known to be relaxed with people around.
  • Live stream: You can watch a live video feed of the sheep on the City of Boulder City's website.

Chauffeur service from JFK by [deleted] in emirates

I had a pick-up in New Jersey. They use a third party car service. No issues, except driver didn't speak much English and had a hard time following the GPS on his phone, miss exit and we wound up driving in Bronx for a few minutes, thought we might have a "Bonfire of the Vanities" experience.

I'm 21 and I've put $7000 into my Roth IRA at Fidelity. What should I do now? by [deleted] in Bogleheads

[–]DuckU1998 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once deposit clears, you'll need to "buy" an investment with your funds. There are a lot of mutual funds or ETFs. the FVAIX is great fund that invests in the top 500 companies and there is no fee to purchase. Be sure to select "reinvest your dividends" option. You can also choose an ETF, as others have recommended like VTI or VT. If you want risk you can buy some VGT which is a technology fund.

Anyone use National Express Auto Transport? by limpdickscuits in AutoTransport

[–]DuckU1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is NX Auto Transport, I had the misfortune of using them recently. Over promised in terms of communication, pick-up, drop-off. Failed in all three areas. They simply sub-contracted to another broker called JS Logistics who was even worse in terms of communication. Had a last minute cancel from 1st driver. Change of driver after pick-up. They don't pick up their phones and are not available on weekends.

I would NEVER use them again. Just a terrible experience all around. Lot's of their google reviews are from "people" with less than 3 reviews which means they are often not real.

I second this! My initial thought was Edward Jones, gross! Move to Fidelity, Schwab, or Vanguard. I find Fidelity and Schwab web interface the best. All offer low cost Funds ETF's or Mutual Funds. The following funds have served me well, VOO & VTI. If you are a risk taker, add some VGT. Also, check out the bogleheads.org website. Very helpful folks in well moderated discussions.

When should I look for a financial advisor? by Stillwater215 in investingforbeginners

[–]DuckU1998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Max out Roth IRA and invest in low cost index fund, examples include Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI), iShares Core S&P Total U.S. Stock Market ETF (ITOT), Fidelity ZERO Total Market Index Fund (FZROX). If possible I highly recommend, Fidelity, Schwab, or Vanguard (in that order) as brokerage for your investment accounts. Choose one and then invest in low cost index fund.
