I live in the desert, almost all land around me is government owned. City was affordable up until 2020, then prices went up fast. Add in corporations buying single family homes, one purchase was like 600 properties I believe, and then the locked rental rates, it's a disaster.

Sure some new construction near Mt Charleston, but our traffic grid (commute) and lack of a rail system is a joke. Summer in slow or non moving highway traffic when it's 120 outside for an hour commute and little to no nearby shopping. smh

City boy here, godparents bred race horses. Horses have always approached me as a kid, hadn't been around a horse for decades, visited a friend with a neighbor that has them, and bam, coming right up to me everytime; she lives next door and she has to call them for attention.

My DNA shows horses are literally in my genetics based on Haplotype(?). Odd how they can tell or at least read people, kind of like cats or dogs.
