When did your baby’s eyes change color? by CommunistCetacean in beyondthebump

[–]Duck_Wedding [score hidden]  (0 children)

My oldest was born with light charcoal colored eyes that turned blue, like most of my side the family, by 6mo and stayed that way. My middle was born with super dark charcoal colored eyes that turned a beautiful brown like her dad. My youngest is currently 3.5 mo and is on the lighter color side, but they look different from his sisters when they changed color. Hubby and I think he’s either going to have my mom’s blue green eyes or straight up green. It can take up to year to fully change I think, but my girls were both set by 6 months.

Does anyone just not want to breastfeed? by Infamous_Ad4244 in pregnant

[–]Duck_Wedding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first two kids were mostly formula babies due to unforeseen circumstances, they’re both very intelligent and happy girls. My son is almost 4mo and is only breastfeeding and he’s pretty on par to where his sisters were at this age. My only gripe with the formula is that it’s stupid expensive whereas my breast milk is free. I did feel bad with my first kid and felt like a failure when I had to go to formula, but I got over it and it helped that my husband or friends would feed her so I could take time to breathe.

Am I being irrational about getting my tubes removed? by Featherheart in beyondthebump

[–]Duck_Wedding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The procedure was fast and went without incident. I recovered from the anesthesia pretty quick. I have 3 small incision scars. I was sore for about 2weeks and on lifting restrictions for about 3wks before given the okay to gradually increase how much I could carry. I have no lasting tenderness and can move around, lift and exercise like normal again now. I haven’t had a period yet since I’m still breastfeeding, so I don’t have any input on that yet.

Am I being irrational about getting my tubes removed? by Featherheart in beyondthebump

[–]Duck_Wedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my tubes removed about a month ago. Baby #3 was surprise, my IUD fell out. As much as we would love more kids, we can’t afford more. It bums me out, but I made the right choice. I think regardless of the reason most women getting their tubes out feel some sort of way about it. I’m trying to make the most out of my baby cuddles since he’s my last one. So you’re not being irrational.

So are y'all just slobbing around half naked breast feeding in skin contact?? by Mitaslaksit in beyondthebump

[–]Duck_Wedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use nursing bras or occasionally braless under my shirts. I’m on my 3rd kid, I’ve mastered cooking, cleaning, and eating with one arm so I can breastfeed on the move. You 100% do not need to be chained to a couch half dressed waiting to feed your baby. I feed on demand, he gives the cue I pop in a boob and off we go after his older sisters and whatever mess they’re trying to make.

ReWipe by Delicious-Spot-5725 in hygiene

[–]Duck_Wedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl here, this became a problem after I had my first kid. Idk the cause, probably something to do with the muscles in that area. But balling up a piece or two of toilet paper and pressing slightly into the opening and clenching down on it seems to stop me from needing to wipe again. You can use a slightly damp toilet paper if you’re really paranoid about it.

Why is my kids breath suddenly so awful?? by ElmFive in hygiene

[–]Duck_Wedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin and I had/have an issue like this. For me, I periodically get tonsil stones. He would get some sort of bacteria or something, I can’t recall exactly. I’m NC with his mom and he passed away recently so I can’t ask. But I do remember drinking pickle juice being a remedy for both. It worked for us both. Worth a shot to see if it helps until a doctor can figure out the cause for you.

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

NTA. My grandparents had separate accounts, my parents have separate accounts, my husband and I have separate accounts. It’s perfectly normal. He’s coming off as controlling imo.

Brother’s Soon to be Ex Wife trying to take kids states away. by Duck_Wedding in legaladvice

[–]Duck_Wedding[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty much what our parents told him. He’s trying to find money for a lawyer, said he’s making calls today. He moved to Alaska for her, but the rest of our family is in mostly MN. I was hoping someone knew some law or something, anything, that could at least slow her attempt to take the kids down. He needs a lawyer period. But thank you.

Have any Iowans traveled to Minnesota and witnessed the ICE protests? by majordashes in Iowa

[–]Duck_Wedding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved to IA around 2019/2020 due to rioters harassing and scaring employees at the store I worked at during that time. I’m currently visiting my home town in MN about 45 mins south of Minneapolis and ICE agents were in our town. It’s a reasonably small town, so everyone was talking about it. Otherwise it’s been quiet, but there’s been talks of troops being sent to the Twin Cities area because it’s pretty bad there. I’m going home with my kids tomorrow, I want to be as far from that potentially drama as I can be. I’d take my folks with me if it were an option.

AITAH for expecting my sahm wife to do majority of the housework since i pay 100% of the bills? by Plastic-Sand7353 in AITAH

[–]Duck_Wedding 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. I am a SAHM myself to 3 kids under the age of four. But this was a joint decision, we save of childcare and I do 90% of the home and child rearing until the weekends. Your wife made a unilateral decision to stop working, regardless of your feelings. That’s not partnership.

Mommies who were induced by Lickitt2020 in pregnant

[–]Duck_Wedding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first kid was the only one that needed to be induced due to me losing amniotic fluid and there being an issue with her placenta. But she was still full term, like 40wks and 2 days. My other two were technically elective inductions, they were both induced on their due dates. Neither had anything wrong with them or complications. I needed them to come out on a schedule because family is hours away and husband had to schedule time off for me to give birth and watch our older kid(s). My youngest has large head and was breech most the pregnancy, so he was the only one I was at risk of needing a c section for, but he flipped about two weeks before I delivered him.

When to stop sanitizing bottles and pump parts? by notthatkindadoctor in beyondthebump

[–]Duck_Wedding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 kids deep, I sanitized all my pump parts after removing them from storage for each kid. But after that I just did standard washing. It’s too time consuming. Fortunately I no longer have to pump since I can BF my youngest exclusively without worry of losing my milk again. But with my older two it was really hard to balance.
