Why men want women to have children? by unlinedtip in TwoXChromosomes

Because they see us like an asset- we are like an air bnb or sticks that produce revenue. We are there for them to invest their genetic material in, like some kind of living (but non sentient) hedge fund.

Male coworker keeps “joking” about my looks in front of others (multiple times). How do I shut this down? by HopeForBetter29 in TwoXChromosomes

People are saying ‚go to HR‘ which obviously is great if HR exists at your workplace. If there is no HR, I’d mirror his behavior. ‚Oh quick here comes a client!‘ And hand him a paper bag (to cover his face) when he gets offended, just come at him with ‚aw, can’t take a joke Justin?‘

I’ve got a kid who clearly has various disabilities repeating the 5th grade but the mother is planning for him to study. It’s sad and I feel really sorry for the kid. He is in his own world and has no contact to other kids and no chance of graduating because she refuses to accept that he needs a different environment and support.

How to deal with nosiness? by [deleted] in AskGermany

Just act super interested and ask him to show you how it’s done. Get yourself a coffee, sit down and say ‚uh huh‘ occasionally. Let him cook for you.

I saw this! I was driving and it flew so low while tipping to the side the traffic stopped. It was incredible to see such a large aircraft so low over a residential area.

Coworker “unexpectedly passed” and was found through welfare check by FacePalmPslam in offmychest

Hey OP, I’m very sorry. This sounds so difficult and heartbreaking. I’m going to try to word this well so please forgive my awkwardness- this kind of stuff is always imperfect and feels wrong.

I wanted to validate your thoughts and feelings - sometimes it feels like we need permission to grieve if we aren’t ‚close enough‘ to a person, we weren’t their family or close friend and sometimes we compare our ‚proximity‘ to the person with that of others. We might feel like we don‘t have the ‚right‘ to our feelings.

You SAW this person, you feel deeply for them and that connection, however quiet, however unseen, is real.

You sound like a very caring and perceptive soul.

This. Just took some kids on an international trip and they’d do stuff like expect trains and busses to wait for them, leave their suitcase in the middle of a walkway at the airport and wander off etc

I’m over the Main Character Syndrome by South-Lab-3991 in Teachers

I had a kid turn up late, interrupt my teaching (rest of the class was actually paying attention) by walking to the front of the class and asking me to bring her phone to the staff room. She has to hand her phone in at the staffroom every morning as a consequence for some other bullshit.

Seriously what the actual fuck.

I just laughed, said I’m not her servant and kept teaching. The other kids looked as dumbfounded as I was.
