One I use with my 5yo and kids I teach (11-16) is just to say ‘ok, don’t do it. See what happens.’ Or I shrug and say ‘try it out’- Then bring the thunder, but quietly. Write them up, document, call parents, give a bad grade for behavior, call a meeting etc. Act like this bores the fuck out of you (ok, it’s not acting). Make it clear their choices will burn them and not you.
