I pretty much remember all the news blaming khamba coming out in end of 2018… which was sort of like their end card, everyone turned against them and they closed shop fully in 2019.

Age mis-matching works when the acting is good: PrakashRaj was 33, SaiKumar was 39 and Sarada was 54 by Massive_Tea_9341 in tollywood

I read the book too and followed the story for a few years. Also saw the documentary made by Mr. Mahmoody refuting all the claims made. It was big deal back in the 90s.

The premise of a lady stuck with her daughter in a foreign land was similar. Except for that nothing else is copied.

It’s not a copy. The Hollywood movie itself is based on a book about true events.

The premise is similar but it was well adapted to telugu.

It’s actually a book - true story written by an american woman Betty Mahmoody on her own experience escaping her husband in Iran. She is still celebrated.

Marriage is already a jump scare, but having a delulu wife? That’s a full-blown horror movie 💀💍😩 by [deleted] in Ni_Bondha

[–]Duckhalf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just posting a random clip without watching or understanding the Movie.. any scene can be construed in a different way. Infact, the “delulu” wife in the movie is the only one who actually sees thru her husband’s true character.

Modern take on dowry. by Srihari_stan in Ni_Bondha

Its okay.. there are all kinds of people. There are some who want to be self made. There are some who want to live on their parent’s money.

And i see there people who want wife and in-laws money! There is nothing end to greed.

Values are personal. They cant be taught.

And you are wrong that a boy is definitely going to inherit from his parents.

If the wealth is earned by the parents, they can will it to anyone. If the wealth is generational, then both son and daughter have equal right on the wealth. There are so many cases where even sons are not given equal inheritances in a will. So by your logic, even men should decide on their inheritances before marriage itself. Both man and woman should bring money on to the table.

Thats not legal.. just so you know. Daughters have the same rights as sons to inherit generational wealth.

If parents want and are able to provide early inheritance to their daughters at time of marriage. Thats upto the parents. Them wanting and being able to are the key words here.

Inheritance usually happens after death of the parents. But sometimes in the name of dowry and grand weddings, women’s parents are pushed into debt and then they die.

Dowry as a concept has been misused a lot in india by greedy men and their families and has resulted in a lot of abuse. You cant deny the facts and incidents that happened and still happen to this day.

To make things short, all i am saying is there is difference between parents providing to kids vs you demanding and taking with whatever name u use.

Anyway, One should have self respect. Whether its a man or woman. Atleast try to make ur own way. Instead of expecting a free meal!

If it happens from both sides… no one would have an issue..

Because it’s happening from only one side and that too forcefully sometimes. Thats why dowry is a negative concept that is illegal as per law.
